Correct. Nagasaki was in the top 15, excluded from the top 5 reportedly at Truman's request. The second intended target was Kokura, and weather prevented several attempts. At what was proved to be literally the last minute, Kokura was abandoned and the backup of Nagasaki was given one attempt, which was successful. Bockscar lost two engines during its emergency landing in Okinawa, its fuel was so low. So Nagasaki was only promoted to backup site because it was en route from a top 5 site.

I genuinely believe that if Hitler had NOT expelled the Jews of Germany. Especially the very rich bankers and the top ranking Rabbis and had them instead placed all over German cities that the fire bombings of Dresden and elsewhere could never have happened.
If nukes aren't real then what would this say?
What you may think is "conclusive evidence" for them not being real may not be the case. (i.e. early test footage could have been faked but nukes could still be real for instance.)
Not going to debate this. But even if you opt for fire bombings this does not change the point of this post of the reason the city was picked.
