Its really doubtful if America has its gold reserves. I wouldn't be surprised if America's gold reserves were transfered "abroad".
They were many times at least before 1945. The gold went to England. Eustace Mullins writes about it in his Secrets of the Fed.
Well, I guess that's one more conspiracy theory I've read around here that happened
Financially insolvent country using assets to pay off debt.
Their country was a mess even with the gold sitting in the vault, so I don't know if I can say this is a bad move, assuming that their stated goal using the reserves is true.
Though I admit Milei seems to worship the Synagogue of Satan which is a very bad sign. And without gold, once there is a global currency crisis (dollar crisis) they will be in bad shape. But on the other hand, if you are insolvent you have to sell off or leverage assets.
