There has always been a tech transfer between the great nations in cold war with each other. This is historically well documented.

USSR is the one that started the space nonsense with Sputnik and Laika. Most Russians know that the moon landing is fake though, even former head of the Russian space agency, Dmitry Rogozin, has called the moon landing by NASA out as never having happened.
99% of the people in both space programs could have been convinced it was USSR and USA in a space race, and there were many firsts that were amazing for man in the 50s and 60s.
But 1% at the top, financing, making the budgets, decides the projects and did it for Russia, USA, China, etc. all the space programs, and governments, are under the same financial controls. Which narrows it down to who is really on charge of all these space programs and nations

The deepest, strangest thing I've seen along these lines is that Neil Armstrong and Yuri Gagarin were twins.
Their teeth are markedly different, which I suspect was from poor nutrition in the USSR. Also, when Yuri was starting to gain international notoriety, they gave him a scar through his eyebrow which does not at all look like he came about it naturally. Read the narrative of how he supposedly got it if you want a laugh.
So the basic thesis is that the dark occultists who run the world and orchestrated the Cold War got a set of twins and separated them, one to each superpower. Then they were groomed to become heroes of the "space race".
Which sounds bizarre until you realize that the most bizarre aspect is that it all took place right in front of the world yet no one noticed.
