Google-Backed RAND Study Recommends Infiltrating & Subverting Online Conspiracy Groups From Within
Google's Jigsaw unit sponsors a RAND report that recommends infiltrating & subverting online conspiracy groups from within while planting authoritative messaging wherever possible.
I hadn't seen this before. Thought some here might find it interesting.
They have definitely done that here. Lots of vax shills lately.
You’ve seen people promoting the shots here?
promoting and defending and also defending the people who proselytized the vax... yes
Hell hath frozen over. I agree with Skil for the 2nd time in a day (the other time was defending that the white man went to the moon).
Nobody promotes the vax here, but defend those to caved and took the vax. Personally, I discount all who took the vax unless they publicly recant and say something akin to "I was wrong". I believe in forgiveness, even if I won't forget.
Yeah, that asshat u/Zap_Powerz keeps telling people to post their vax cards. What’s up with that??
Fuck off, shill.
Impressive summoning time!
One possible tactic I have noticed lately is people asking for explanations where they do not appear be honestly curious and skeptical. Rather, it seems like they are attempting to waste the poster's time. They pretend to be in doubt but want to be spoon fed information they could easily look up on their own. They are so doubtful of conspiracies that it seems unlikely that they are genuinly posting on a conspiracy board. It more seems like they are there to create an atmosphere of confusion for any normie who might happen upon the information. I used to notice this tactic often on reddit and voat years ago, and it seems like it is popping up a lot lately on some of the boards I visit.
Why trolls. It's caused me to choose to ask certain questions from people I hope will recognize my username.
Notice the recent influx of strange, incoherent posts here.
Flat terrain theorists?
I wanna know why the feds don't ever try to get me to kidnap anyone important. :(
Cass Sunstein wrote and recommended this strategy in his 2008 paper Conspiracy Theories: Their Causes and Cure. Shortly thereafter he was appointed to the UK Governments new Behavioural Insights Team aka Nudge Unit.
These were subsequently exported to governments around the world.
ty. hadn't heard of him..
Oh is THAT why I'm here
