Maybe they could fly/levitate somehow, and the only way we could conceive of that (and therefore preserve it for others) was through the wings of a bird
If what you say is true.. metaphors back in ancient days was the worst thing these ancient stone historians could have done.to convey a message to future generations
it'd be interesting if the wings were vestigial because the beings devolved from something better. seems like a good avenue for shit talk if we ever scrimmage against them again.
Do you rmemeber the Holoman Air Force Base UFO story .. where aliens landed and met with military.. George Noory interviewed a guy that saw the full film of that , that the government at the time was considering releasing to the public and Noory asked 'What did they look like on the film' and he answered 'They looked Babylonian' .. But what was even more bizarre was .. Noory didn;t ask any further questions as if he was not allowed to pry any further
I don’t remember that one specifically. I’ve been out of ufology for a while - but it was an interest of mine for a long time.
In my research i concluded that all “alien” conflation with ufo’s is for discrediting/kookification/suppression of discussion, research, and reporting of ufo’s. This began as soon as the modern ufo’s did (“flying saucers”) around the 40’s. Today it is also used on the side to encourage alien worship among the zealots (which serves the former purpose). They are largely the saints of the secular religion of scientism (a la daniken, and many others). Occasionally they were also used for psyop/terrorization purposes (post 80’s)
Aliens are entirely fictional, and do not exist in antiquity. The modern gray we know and love was first depicted/created in the 90’s.
I am more of a believer of these kinds of aliens from ancient Hindu cosmology .. Yeah, you can;t explain it scientifically.. But there are things the human mind is not capable of understanding https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suyA_dP1clU
Those are gods (and humans who were given “boons” by them), not aliens. Aliens are modern fiction. Gods have been around MUCH longer.
As for scientific explanation - it may be beyond understanding, but i suspect description ought to still be possible in those terms. Certainly ufos (flying craft) function definitely and are built by living entities. There is only one living entity that we know of that builds flying craft though.
Yeah metaphical wings were very popular in ancient art. Like winged shoes, winged helmets, other representations of being able to travel beyond this realm but without a better way to depict it
Ethereal creatures such as angels would be capable of flying and would likely possess a halo caused by refraction. The combination could be represented as wings. Those living among humans might be seeking glorification which would indicate a fallen status
My working hypothesis is that the ancients were specifically prohibited by creating accurate depictions of the Anunnaki. The reasons behind that rule would be pure speculation.
The most complete information we have about the Anunnaki comes from the Sumerian culture, and I recently learned that there are specific anthropological clues that the Ubaid culture was the predecessor of the Sumerian culture.
They produced very strange and unique reptilian/mammalian figurines. I believe that, if any accurate depictions of the Anunnaki are to be found, these would be closer than any of the much later and more metaphorical representations.

If you communicate using pictures, and you want to record “man who could fly” in a single image, how would you do that, other than wings?
do you think back in the day they would put wings on stone being thrown in mid air in a stone carving? But check this out https://www.google.com/search?q=winged++sun+sumerian&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwiOheWczJr7AhVSMd8KHU_vBjEQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=winged++sun+sumerian&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzIGCAAQCBAeMgYIABAIEB46CAgAEAgQBxAeUPgKWIwVYLweaABwAHgAgAHIAYgB2ASSAQUzLjQuMZgBAKABAaoBC2d3cy13aXotaW1nwAEB&sclient=img&ei=AjRoY478FtLi_AbP3puIAw&bih=967&biw=1920
Pilots wear wings to designate they are flyers of airplanes.
The eagle is a logo of NASA.
Maybe the wings are metaphorical, symbolic, or ornamental?
Sometimes a beard is just a beard!

Ufo’s are real, aliens are not.

Maybe he's an Ostrich
How do we know Sumeria did not have a MCU , but stone instead of comic book paper?
the wings could have been purely symbolic - not intended to be taken literally.
Ethereal creatures such as angels would be capable of flying and would likely possess a halo caused by refraction. The combination could be represented as wings. Those living among humans might be seeking glorification which would indicate a fallen status
