Ive never seen any donation links. And I am thankful that im not being blasted by ads like every fucking other website in existence right now but I am curious.
But honestly, I just think it all supports the dead internet theory. And for anyone who is new or not paying attention, is a theory that suggests that different countries/cultures and subsets of people are being segregated on the internet, mainly through the use of quantum computers, or at least quantum like. I imagine the potential for neural nets on these machines are insane and its certainly possible. Makes me think of that scifi westworld (spoilers if you havent watched the show), where they have a quantum computer? running an entire duplicate world where they could experiment to see what would happen. Seems like a powerful tool to have at ones disposal.
But these last 10 years or so, seem like a ghost town intellectually, but I dont know really, perhaps its all a consequence of stripping down free speech and banishing those who dare to dream differently. In that case all your left with is an echo chamber. Which is what reddit has turned into.

I'm sure older people would believe this because they treat technology like it's magic, and younger people would scoff at this because they don't actually grasp how powerful technology is and what it can do, or they are naïve on what companies will do.

it's very easy to program something to phone home without the normie user even knowing it. The only way to know for certain if information is being sent with every key press is to wireshark your network
