According to Google Maps the Northern Ice Cap No Longer Exists Leaving 30,000 Polar Bears to Just Swim Around the Arctic Ocean Having a Gay Old Time (media.conspiracies.win)

I remember when google maps was released for public use, somewhere around 2005. It definitely showed actual pictures of ice back then, and over the years it was becoming more noticeably cracked up and smaller.

Somewhere around 2010, maybe 2012 I remember going to look and they had completely removed the sat photos, presenting us with what we are seeing now.

Im surprised it took someone else this long to notice lol.

Googles official reasoning sounds like some complete bullshit as well...

A commonly cited reason is that the Arctic ice cap is floating on open ocean; there’s no land underneath that reaches sea level. Antarctica, on the other hand, does conceal land above sea level. Thus, the reasoning goes, the Arctic does not qualify as land, and is rendered as ocean based on depth data.

The Arctic is rapidly changing, sometimes the sea ice is broken even right at the North Pole.

Few people care whether they see the ice cap; Google probably provides based on a trade-off of ease-of-provision and customer interest.

Definitely hiding something. If I had to guess based on my observations, how quickly the ice is thawing.

How so? I know everyone gets tired of the doom and gloom but at this point I almost revel in the thought of humanity checking out.

I know most people don't deserve what is coming, a lot of people are good people. But at the same time we have collectively allowed these assholes (Our leaders and the elite) to speak for our planet. We deserve what we get.

Its refreshing to see the amount of people in there who know that the earth is dying, even while many people still sit in denial and claim its not happening.

The only difference between me and them? I believe that earth suffers reoccurring cataclysms and that these people have been convinced to believe that it was humanity's fault. When the reality is, there is nothing we can do to stop what is coming. The elite know that.....

There will be little very evidence our civilization existed by the time the next inter-glacial rolls around in around 90,000 some years. Most man made materials and molecules will have been broken down or buried deep in the earth by that point. The earth will be pristine again.

The north pole is sitting on water. When a ice cube melts in a glass it doesnt raise the level of water does it?

The south pole is a little different, its all ice sitting above sea level...

Google maps uses the Mercator projection which makes the poles very distorted at both ends, so you hardly see them. However, even in most Mercator projections you can still see the poles. It depends on the person who designs the projection.

Bozos. Google Maps shows the sea floor (terrain) for anything a few kilometres beyond land. Zoom into any island in the north. They take photos during summer, so it's NOT real-time. Then scroll over the seas and it turns into the sea FLOOR.

Why is everyone so fucking stupid here?

Right. So a permanent ice cap is not land? And it makes sense to map the ocean floor, that nobody uses, while showing the waterway open? Who would this useless map be for?

Why are you so fucking stupid?

Why are you?

The Ice Cap is floating on the sea. It's the same reason you can't find icebergs on google. The sat data shows nothing but blue. To make the area informative, they show the "seafloor" contours. Obviously, it's all fake anyway. But I do wonder why nobody uses the globe feature of Google maps. It shows a black spot around the pole. Same with Antarctica. Hmmmm. You cant find the south pole station... why not?

I just think it's about manipulating perception of the ice caps melting.

I don't, but ok. If Mars had an ocean that covered the north polar ice cap, it would show the seafloor rather than a lot of blue and small amount of ice.
