Bozos. Google Maps shows the sea floor (terrain) for anything a few kilometres beyond land. Zoom into any island in the north. They take photos during summer, so it's NOT real-time. Then scroll over the seas and it turns into the sea FLOOR.

Why is everyone so fucking stupid here?

Right. So a permanent ice cap is not land? And it makes sense to map the ocean floor, that nobody uses, while showing the waterway open? Who would this useless map be for?

Why are you so fucking stupid?

Why are you?

The Ice Cap is floating on the sea. It's the same reason you can't find icebergs on google. The sat data shows nothing but blue. To make the area informative, they show the "seafloor" contours. Obviously, it's all fake anyway. But I do wonder why nobody uses the globe feature of Google maps. It shows a black spot around the pole. Same with Antarctica. Hmmmm. You cant find the south pole station... why not?

I just think it's about manipulating perception of the ice caps melting.

I don't, but ok. If Mars had an ocean that covered the north polar ice cap, it would show the seafloor rather than a lot of blue and small amount of ice.
