I doubt the veracity of such audacious claims. They've been wrong before. But they're not impossible. I am curious why so many generals are on the field and not at command posts in heavily fortified positions? How these positions are being identified and overrun, without them being secured?

Surely the first order of business is securing your positions while cutting of the means of the enemy identifying your own. Harder in a hostile nation. But much easier than losing so many high ranking troops. Perhaps some were foolhardy, not real generals, rather various commanders, leading their own battalions. Charging in head first. They aren't those Western generals, commanding a much larger portion of the battlefield. The enemy hasn't killed x10 Patton. But the press is keen to suggest it. Propaganda. Also the location is bullshit. A zone, the second largest city, not far from the border. It is still under heavy resistance. Why would a "general" be mine sweeping. They weren't unless it's a general term for every ranking officer. These can get killed alongside a squad they command. But at this point why are so many more dying?
Propaganda is much stronger, despite better tech being supplied to Ukraine. I doubt it's breaking Russian command.
But what if Russia had to have this war to later merge. Too many old guard, army core especially, preventing it. You will charge in and you will die well. The future demands it.

How many has Russia actually confirmed killed? I know they confirmed one, and IIRC he wasn't really a general like in the US sense. Maybe saw one other confirmation?
