I won't watch the video, but did you know, Protestants removed 7 books of the Bible?
Worse still, the Catholic church changed "repentance" to "do penance", leading people away from the true message of salvation. That is damnable heresy.
Faith AND good works my friend, faith and good works, leads to salvation.
"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."
I don't know of a single born again believer who says have faith but please don't do any works. Faith is recognized as the foundation without which your works are in vain. But without faith you cannot be born again, as Jesus said you must be to enter the kingdom. And if you are born again you will do good works. There is no such thing as a born again believer not doing any works.
Faith and transformation is what you need. What you have is faith in your works and in the works of man (the Vatican Church). Please turn from it, and turn from your foolish pride in this wicked institution.
"And if you are born again you will do good works"
And there is it, right on cue, the No True Scotsman fallacy that all members of the justified by faith alone crowd never can get around.
Jesus preached we need to be born again. Do you have a problem with his teaching?
No. I have a problem with people who wrongly say "once saved, always saved."
Just focus on the message of salvation given to us by the Lord himself, stop worrying about who you have a problem with among believers unless they are leading people from that.
I bring up the differences with the Vatican because they are changing key phrases such as "repentance" that we were instructed to do. The Vatican is leading people away from salvation.
So you are bragging about willful ignorance on what you're commenting on?
As for the Apocrypha, this video explains that https://odysee.com/@ibc:82/1611-king-james-bible-the-apocrypha:8
The Vatican uses non-canon stories to justify its heresy.
Just pointing out damnable hypocrisy.
And I corrected your misconception with a detailed explanation in this video (which you choose to be ignorant of) https://odysee.com/@ibc:82/1611-king-james-bible-the-apocrypha:8
And our answer was silly. Fact is Martin Luther, after over a thousand years of all Christianity using the same Bible, decided that there were parts of 7 books that didn't fit with the heresy of justification through faith alone. So, after a thousand years, he chucked 'em.
Bottom line. No way around it.
How can you judge a matter without hearing it first? That is the really absurd thing.
Do you honestly think that any Trad Cath with a modicum if catechism, hasn't heard the arguments before about why Maccabees, or Tobit, etc. were thrown out of the Bible, after over a thousand years?
It's because they interfered with what Martin Luther believed. Bottom line.
It really is a slippery slope. Plenty of Christians want to remove those passages by Paul about women being subordinate to their husbands. What's to stop the next Luther from doing so? Your indignation?
Yeah, I won't watch it either.
I'm in public most of the time and feel the need to broadcast to the people around me.
If OP can't be bothered to write a summary the message isn't that important.
That's a bizarre explanation to me. If you are afraid to watch it, I don't know what to tell you. There is no offensive language in it, the man is a Christian evangelist.
Because it's rude to play video with sound in public places.
How autistic does a person have to find that bizarre?
You got that part right, when you couldn't even post a brief summary of the video.
When OP doesn't even care enough about the video to summarize it, then you know it's not worth wasting your own time on.
It would only take 10 minutes out of your day to watch. That isn't unreasonable. Also , Ray does a better job explaining than I do, so you should really listen to him instead. He is an excellent evangelist.
Shill it up.
remind me who determines what is canon and what isn't?
remind me who created your DNA structure and the laws of subatomic physics?
Why on earth do you think that a sentient being "created" those?
Can you please explain what you are talking about?
When you look at your car do you think a sentient being created it?
I can literally watch someone build a car. Have you watched your god building something?
For fuck's sake, learn some apologetic arguments. What you are doing is toddler-level.
So you only know a care was built by an intelligent being because you watched someone build a car, but if you saw a car without ever seeing someone build it you would think it was made spontaneously?
Is that really how your mind works? Also how can you judge apologetic arguments without ever understanding the truth behind it? And moreover who cares if I am not skilled in apologetics? Did I promise you I would be?
Ah, I found the board's iconoclast.
So you're a sola scripture fellow? Where is that is the Bible?
So what do you call your father? Joe?
Correct, Jesus meant don't use the term "Father" as a religious honorific to give someone elevated status.
Aren't there more than 10 commandments. Isn't it 13?
I always have to laugh when people who believe in an invisible Sky Daddy bash each other about whose Sky Daddy is the most real one.
Funny, most people here just laugh at you.
LOL
Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.
Sure thing, spouting Sky Daddy shit.
Like I'm supposed to listen to you about currency.
LMAO
Oh it all just popped into existence from the big bang derrrr. No reason at all.
I'll humor the atheists if they ever spontaniously create life from non living matter. Recreate the primordial ooze
Oh yeah. Magic Sky Man creating everything from nothing is a sooooo much better explanation.
Big Bang was invented by a Catholic priest 😂
Oh lordy.
You have no idea how science works, right?
Haha, oh wow. You are obsessed with me.
Who reacts like that?
You should ask a doctor if you need to do that, not me.
Isn't it more foolish that sinful man thinks he is the highest being in the universe and beyond? You are just trying to justify your own egotism by removing God from the picture.
Who exactly thinks so?
If your god wants me to believe in him, he can just show up and try to convince me.
You get to tell God what he should or shouldn't do in this life and how He should reveal himself to you? And if he doesn't meet those criteria you have set he cannot be?
If your god is all-knowing then it knows what would convince me.
Do you think it doesn't know what would convince me?
I am not telling your god anything since I don't believe in it.
Now tell me: why is your god so invisible and why does it not interact with the world in a manner that makes his existence unquestionably obvious?
I have read the Bible more than once. There are many stories about Yahweh revealing itself to unbelievers. Why was it able to do that 3000 years ago all the time but for some reason, today it is unable? Do you have an explanation for that?
In the Bible did Yahweh reveal himself to every single unbeliever? If that was so why did he send prophets to tell people to repent? You are no more entitled to a special vision from God than you are to you yourself becoming a prophet tomorrow.
It's also true that some people are born into wealth or has great athletic genetics. Does that make you entitled to the same?
I am not entiled to anything. I am just saying that if your god wanted me to believe in him, he would find a way.
I have no more reason to believe in your invisible non-interfering god than in some magic spitir I make up myself.
In the Bible we are called to repent and turn to God, indicating you are required to open your heart and thus you have the power to close your heart to God (which you are doing). God's will is to grant you separation if you so choose, and you are allowed to life a faithless and dark life if you don't chose the light. That simply is how it is. I don't have to explain why it is perfect.
Laughter is a sign of nervousness.
That's how I feel about people who believe in the magic space fairy.
