As long as brain dead sheep keep watching them the money will keep coming. They keep charging more and more every year and morons still watch. They would rather be passionate about men playing games than deal with the real world. Players just get their fair share of the revenue.

Yes sports are rigged. Runs the gambling industry. Online casinos were worth 400 billion or so a few years ago. Sports retail products, TV, movies, etc.

In nearly every sport or olympic event it isn't possible to be competitive without taking some sort of performance enhancing drug. The primary way to get a competitive edge is to have a doctor or other professional figure out how to help an athlete consume as much drugs as possible while still being able to pass the drug test either by masking the use to beat a drug test, taking a new drug that can't be tested for, or taking drugs in between drug tests. This way, only athletes with lots of money/sponsorships can win which helps the elites make sure that there is sufficient diversity in pro sports leagues and that players who have marketable backgrounds and appearances become the big stars. If any athletes don't want to play by the rules, then all of a sudden they don't get signed and they get cut off from the PED's, ending their career.

Even in the 60’s a lot of NFL players had regular jobs in the offseason. Today the teams and the league make so much money the players wouldn’t accept a low salary when their bosses are making billions, even if it is their dream to play.

Truth. All this big money like expensive art or movie productions are probably just laundering black economy money

Would have been nice if you would have made the connection between the contract size and the gambling market, OP.

The connection is kinda obvious but would have made for a better post if stated.

I noticed this years ago with football in particular. The rules are interpreted differently every game. But some games now, it's almost like they're watching social media to see how people want the game to go or if they're noticing... and then the officials call the game differently in the second half etc.

They are a massive grift that I do not partake in, but I don’t think you can rig a basketball or hockey game. You could influence it through officiating or a team could throw a game but you can’t fake the game.

The main reason they get that much is that they are making the owners more than that.
