Every Search is a fucking hassle to find what im looking for, much more than even 2020. it seems like the point is to make it as frustrating as possible.

SEO ruined search even before censorship
The Internet has been dead for years.
Google has been unusable since 2020. Duckduckgo can still return some useful results. I hear good things about Yandex.

StartPage is my go-to for any search-related term that I can think of. Screw Google, Bing, etc.

SE's have gotten worse, but using operators we can make them a little better.
At the risk of ruining this method, add something like this to all of your searches:
-fact -myth
The minus sign excludes results containing these words. So exclude any terms that are contaminating your results and you can usually eliminate all the astroturf.
Google straight up ignores operators now. The excluded search terms will end up right in the fucking title.

Try a diff search engine.
YouTube search has been returning tragic and depressing, negative vid in response to simple animal searches including death, cannibalism and infant rape among others

I've been having a hard time with search engines since Web Crawler stopped using their original algorithm and licensed googles. It's been a while.
Same here, same frustration, have to rely on bits and pieces here and there, basically doing a manual web crawl! Visiting the sites you know, seeing whom they link to etc..
Researching a topic through a search engine has become impossible. I am getting better results by reading books on the topic then looking up words and names I find in there.

i think its less of a search engine problem (metager is the best ive found), it seems like internet databases are being censored
