The last thing someone like Trump wants is sound money. Sound money is honest money which means he can't do as he pleases. If anything, it will be gold for international settlement, but he wants (and will demand) free reign to print as much as he needs to keep the ship running. Trump is too ambitious and too fond of executive power to be constrained by real money.
It will also be good for manufacturing as the dollar gets weaker. He's leaning into it with tariffs. But he pulled back when treasury rates kept rising, which is the opposite effect of what he wanted.
