It's because if you die ( in Canada ) before you are allowed to access your government pension, the Canadian government gets to claim it. Here's the thing though, if you die before you're eligible for that pension, the government gets it from THAT time that you died until you're expected death ( I think they have it set for 85 years ).
So, if you die at say 20 in Canada, the government gets to claim your pension payouts from THAT time until you would have been 85 - 60 years of pension payouts, right back into the government coffers. MAID is 100% a scam to get more people to kill themselves, legally.
