I'm glad you have noticed how different this place is to reddit. My style of "moderation" has been to not subject this place to heavy-handed "reddit" style moderation. Most people came here because they were sick of that shit. If you want this place to be moderated like reddit, I suggest there's no need to be here at all, just go back to reddit.
Or remain here and block anyone and any community you find unpleasant. That is the ethos of this website, as laid out in the content policy on the side bar. You choose what and who you want to see. It is actively encouraged to use the sites tools to moderate your own experience. Please read the entire content policy.
I am also one of the original people who came here from reddit, and I have actively participated since then, And you can check my posting history to confirm that.
What makes me not trust you is your 5 day old account, yet speaking like you are a regular user here. If you truly were a regular user here, why didn't you start to participate when tallest skill was banned for almost two years? He was banned pretty early on in this forums history, and only unbanned relatively recently.
If you had an old account you previously participated on, what was it? If not, what you have described is that at best you are a sometime-lurker.
Just speculating, but a medicine doesn't have to work for it to be adopted as the norm. See remdisivir. Which not only didn't work but was actually deadly. OR AZT. A loose correlation (provided by a study commissioned the manufacturer), and no bad side-effects would probably be enough to have a medicine be declared as the permanent standard of care for a particular illness these days. Medicine/Allopathy has been quite corrupt for many decades, and I guess that could include animal medicine.
I'm sorry, but like many users have pointed out, we currently have no rules here, beyond what the the admin have laid out. What your describing are the general rules of effective debate, which I totally agree with and generally strive to abide by myself. But they have never been deployed as the explicit rule set here - ie. set out as rules in the sidebar.
I didn't feel right to lay out rules, being the only regularly active mod for over a year, so I left the rules undefined, despite some users demanding it. The majority of users have been happy to not have a set of rules explicitly laid out by the mods though. The admin have laid out their rules, and I added the link to them in the sidebar.
I'm often not happy with what I see here either. But is it the purpose of this forum and what it's users post here to keep me happy? For example, the flat earth shit here really bothers me, so I polled the community if they wanted me to get rid of it - but they demanded zero censorship, as absolute free speech as legality permits. I've have tried to abide by that.
I don't know which one he's talking about, but this is probably the most well known for years:
https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/kill-yourself
I used to regularly see it even on reddit back in the day.
In my experience here most users have been demanding free speech and zero censorship of the mods here, contrary to their experience on reddit. So I only banned outright trolls and obvious spammers - users who only come here because they hate this website and all it's users for whatever reason (they are very easy to spot), and users who just spam self promotion or bots etc. All other discussion I permitted if it didn't seem illegal.
I personally find it a bit strange that users are all of a sudden happy for Tallestskill to be banned for his comments when they are such big proponents of free speech and anti-censorship. You will note that you are talking to a handshake account - it's likely one of the trolls who returns here time and again, like the "topMinds" or "Conspiritard" crowd.
I didn't ban him originally
I did once a little while ago. He felt justified inviting others to kill themselves since, in a classical liberal sense, it is not illegal to say such things. Since he had already been banned permanently before, and then re-instated after about 2 years per written request of another user, I decided not to ban and to go with his whole classical liberal reasoning, but warned him he will probably eventually be banned again if he keeps it up.
The point is people were detained against their will based on a PCR. It happened in Canada. Imagine commenting on a 2 year old thread.
It happened in various places around the world, and the CDC obviously seriously considered it and planned for it. So hardly bullshit.
Fediverse Lemmy instance
this is new to me, going to have to look into it.
The owners basically rebranded the website as "scored.co". I guess they felt they need a short one word name, more unique than "communites", or "win" which is basically just like calling it com, org or net. They kept both domains up, and many use prefer not to migrate to the new one. Frustratingly, links on the mod sidebar will lead you back and forth between domains. Personally I use the scored domain, that's the one they focus development on and it works better.
Previous mods of r/conspiratard are active here
I guess they must be our oft returning trolls. I'm pretty sure it's the same small group returning time and again.
All refugees must integrate. Till we can be sure they are not here to subvert/divide/conquer, they shall be marked accordingly with the handshake.

hmmmmm

The problem with Mathis is that with him almost every event of significance to humanity that he has examined is a highly orchestrated psyop done with the utmost care and precision. And every picture he examines has been doctored, though he's not sure how, but only very few talented people like him can tell. Even obscure pictures, that hardly anyone has even seen, the doctoring of which would have no effect on human history whatsoever. Masterfully doctored.
When he's right, he's right. But when he's wrong he just he can't admit it. Or he is just writing fiction for the hell of it. Or perhaps for a nefarious purpose? Either way, can't take him seriously.
he had a terminal illness if I remember correctly, cancer probably.
Not to take a side or anything; but how is that post not similar to your recent post saying "jewish" people aren't human and don't need oxygen to breathe?
It's all very fucked up. Maybe they were a bunch of glowies all along, or some of them at least. I really don't feel I'm missing anything by not going there anymore.
As far as I know there are no algorithms reporting from here to there about flat earthers. Basically their Q psyop is so fragile it can't withstand being associated with Flatties so they hunt you out to ban you, I guess. Sure it's censorship, but who cares; it's like censoring the spittle flecked gibbering of a mental patient on horse tranquilizers.
they kept daily diaries, if they seen a yeti someone would have wrote about it. This picture is the back shot of one of the hikers walking ahead, you can see his trail thru the snow. The reason he looks taller is because they are standing/walking on 3+ feet of packed snow.
I am not convinced of this. The figure's proportions are too odd, thighs too stubby, arms too long, torso too large. There is no one else in the photo, so who's to say only one of the campers witnessed this animal and took the photo, but didn't mention it to the others for whatever reason. Hence there would be no mention of it in their diaries.
There is actually a satirical mention of Yeti (in general) in writing attributed to the campers, some kind of made up headline written down in jest. So maybe Yeti did come up in conversation, but not this explicit encounter, maybe brought up by the witness who did not want to explicitly say they saw one, and so talk of yeti's turned to humor.
You're still making retarded shares, don't worry. There are no photographs of a flat earth that can withstand scrutiny. Just photos of the horizon from too low down to see a curve. There are plenty of photos of Sasquatch/Yeti that do withstand scrutiny. Real photos of real animals. There are also fakes, but they are revealed under scrutiny.
Why am I not surprised that a flat earther has zero understanding of how cameras work? Many old manual analog camera lens can be adjusted to focus on objects either nearer or farther away. It was a common problem, especially with cameras that had no view-finder (especially common on old cheap soviet cameras) that the lens would be focused incorrectly for the image they wish to capture, especially if the photo is taken quickly. No autofocus back then.
For example, right now, If I weren't a moderator, I would block you, because you're annoying, and want the forum to be moderated to suit your particular taste, even though you never even come here and you even have the tools to easily do that yourself. (since I am a mod though, I never block anyone). It's as easy as blocking those "egregious accounts" you don't like when you see them, and job done.
This forum is abiding by the, what I consider to be, quite fair and well thought-out content policy. Especially if you compare that content policy with reddits. It's a world of difference. People don't seem to appreciate what they have here. I urge everyone to read the entire policy.
Forums like GAW are actually somewhat contemptuous of this websites content policy, but what's great is, they can remain doing what they are doing because the power is in the users hands to block whatever communities and users they so choose to make the site how they want it to be.
