Once again you misunderstand the Lord and must look at the context, noting the timing and history of people up to this point when Jesus speaks to her. No one wanted the real God and everyone had their weirdo icon demons they worshipped, the Hebrews were charged with being God's people in that they were designated to be His ambassadors and keeps His word and commandments and follow His ways(didn't usually go so well but God still wins man, Dude is great!!!). Again pretty much no one has been wanting the Creator, they worship the creation throughout history and especially at this place in time, so when Jesus(God) started His ministry He first spoke to those that had been the most loyal.
