I would say people need to better discern what is and isn't some innocuous bullshit. Omg a sculpture that is a cliche of childhood boogeymen and "alligators in the sewers" urban legends... I say it's pretty good proof that the artist is an i creative hack.

What!? It wasn't enough that they put in a false-pope and already utterly subverted the Catholic church?

Yet everyone on most social media ignored that to post about Jill kissing some dude... exactly as the were supposed to... baaaahhhh baaaaaah (sheep noise, fuck it)

The best way to simply shut down the flat earth is to simply ask "So? So what if you are right, what then? What difference does it make?"

They get angry.

Lmao, flat earth is about the only thing dumb enough to make "trans women are women" seem reasonable by comparison!

Hey, thanks for the effort to improve this board. I have lurked and occasionally posted for a while and have hoped to see it eventually be something of value like r/conspiracy was until about 6 years ago and since. If they think this place is garbage, it is only because they must have stopped even lurking r/conspiracy anymore.

Hey, a side note: please NEVER allow this site to randomly suggest usernames. That is a conspiracy in itself on reddit. It was the easiest low-effort way to hide the thousands of bots.

(First, there are a hell of a lot more realistic and feasible conspiracy and geopolitical explanations for all the fakery of NASA than flat earth.)

But, more importantly, let me ask you what makes it so important in your opinion?

If tomorrow it was 100% proven to everyone that the earth was flat, what actually changes other than a billion social media posts and MSM headlines? What important things would it do?

It would not revolutionize science: anyone who that kind of science would matter to in their work would already know about it, wouldn't they? If they didn't then their shit wouldn't work right now, we wouldn't be posting online.

Would governments suddenly stop being evil and killing people in wars for profit and power? Why would they? Don't the leaders all supposedly already know about it?

Would the average person suddenly give a shit about the state of the world and feel empowered to fix things? Lmao! They would still be distracted by the next medi-engineered scandal, or "satanic ritual" music video, or sportsball game as they are now... Leftwing media would say one thing about it, Rightwing media would say another and they would call each other liars based on what their favorite politician or influencer agrees with.

Honestly, what difference do you think it makes? That you would know the "truth"?

Occams-razor-burn 2 points ago +2 / -0

No. They spam the same talking points endlessly, refuse to engage in anything but false arguments, and it adds nothing of value.
It is as pointless as simulation theory posts, but 10000000% as zealous.

Ex: "Simulation theory blah blah blah"

"Ok, cool. That is pretty much what the Bible and every other religion say, only in different words. What of it?"

"Uhhhh... simulation theory blah blah blah."

Ex: "Flat earth blah blah blah blah blah."

"Ok, let's say that's true, what of it?"

"Uhhhh fisheye lenses, photographs, ice wall, flat earth blah blah blah..."

"Ok, but what difference does it make? Anyone involved in any of the relevant sciences for it to matter obviously has it figured out since satellite communication and such work, if space is fake, it's not like that ruins anyone's plans to go on a mars cruise, so... what of it!?"

"If they are lying about flat earth, what else are they lying about????"

"Lots of stuff, why don't you devote your time to that stuff instead of wasting it arguing about flat earth!?"

Even the rare instance when someone is ostensibly held accountable are only in furtherance of other plots. See Weinstein.

It isn't like that at all because:

  1. The_Donald was quarantined despite being one of the top subs, they quarantined it by hiding it from users to prevent traffic there. The quarantine was because of the influence it exerted and traffic it generated to the sub. No one on The_Donald was mad about posting in their own sub.

  2. No one is trying to hide or quarantine the flat earth sub here, there is no effort to prevent anyone going there if they want to. If people actually wanted to hear about it or discuss it then there would be plenty of traffic there. Maybe you should consider why there is not enough traffic for your liking and why flat earth posters have to spam elsewhere to have any "discussion" (which is generally just people calling them stupid and them denying it rather than any real discussion). Why do flat earth posters NOT want to post in a sub specifically about their interests!?

  3. There are "waves" being made by flat earth posters, they are simply annoying like atheists posting in Christian subs or Christian's proselytizing in atheist subs are annoying. If you want to post about the subject, post about it in your own sub rather than spamming your views on others who don't care about it or don't want to hear about it.

  4. Flat earth posters are exactly like drag queens demanding access to children or trannies demanding access to women's restrooms... they are not satisfied to be left alone to freely debate and research amongst themselves in the appropriate place, they feel entitled to shove their beliefs in everyone else's faces. It is farcical.

  5. Simulation theory is just religious theory for "atheists". It is a religious cosmology that claims to be "scientific" because they replace God with computers/aliens/etc. and creation with a computer program. It is religion without morals, enjoyed by nihilists, and utterly pointless to discuss beyond the basic thought experiment of it that was not novel when it was contemplated by ancient philosophers.

  6. "Hollow Earth" is just like "Flat Earth" except its proponents are not so monomaniacally obsessive and don't take themselves so seriously.

Occams-razor-burn 4 points ago +4 / -0

Why oppose discussion of it being done in the correct place? There is an entire sub devoted to it, how is that censorship!?

4
Occams-razor-burn 4 points ago +6 / -2

That would be forum curation: putting the discussions in the relevant place. It is not censorship.

I should think he is the only reporter named that, but Hezbollah!?
I don't doubt Soros funds him but I don't really see why he would work for them. He was for Bernie and played at being some worker's right union rabble rouser character.

It is a person who it should NOT be. The bottom photo is the famous scaffold commander guy who was egging on the January 6 protestors to "move forward and go inside". The FBI claims they cannot identify him.

The top photo is a left wing journalist of all people. There is an older thread on twitter that is linked from this one where another person plays their voices for comparison. Same Midwest accent too.

Shits fucked up, man.

I grew up going to TRF and worked there as a 'boothy' in my late teens back in the 90's. Still travel there from time to time.

I can tell you for absolute fact that the most common motifs on leather armors and bags and such are: Celtic knots, the Moorcock 'Chaos star', and (I lump these all together) Baphotmet like ram and goat heads, skulls, Bulls, pentagrams sonnerands and other "badass brootal heavy metal" type motifs.

And, of late unfortunately, the next most popular motif is fucking steampunk gear garbage which seams to have overtaken the Wiccan/goth pentacles, alchemical/astrological symbols, trees of life designs and such.

(If you doubt me, I will go to the TRF vendors page in a bit and link you to the online storefronts.)

*Edit: to clarify when I mentioned DnD and fantasy, I mean to indicate a general group of interest groups with interests including: DnD, fantasy fiction such as Moorcock and Jordan and movies, speed metal such as Blind Guardian or Iced Earth, Tolkien, renfaires, the SCA, larps, etc. The kind of stuff parodied by that cartoon about the metal band from Cartoon Network. Please note that much of the examples are biased towards the late 90's to turn of the century, so sound outdated probably.

It has been a while since I read his work, and I mostly read sections, not his entire library, back when I was young and experimenting with psychadelics and got into the more intellectual side of that subculture, so I cannot comment on that specifically.

After reading a bit more about the man and his connections to the cybernetics crowd and links through to today, I retracted some of my opinions on him, but credit is due to some of the concepts and insights he explored.

As to your comment: "Synchronicity" in general is broad enough that I am not certain the specific effects you are talking about. It can range from <whatever effect it's called> where some object is brought to your notice and then you notice it far more often (classic example is researching a car to buy and then suddenly seeing way more of that car on the roads). I think this is pretty well explained as the result of directed attention and our brain's function for pattern recognition. It makes sense in a "wild" (pre-civilization) survival perspective... if a person learns of a resource or a threat, it is in our survival interest for our brain to recall characteristics of that subject and put a priority on noticing it in the future while "tuning out" other information around us.

To be cont'd.

So, went and read more about Jung than the specific things of his that I had read before... you were correct, I was basing my opinion only on a small portion of his work.

Anyone who is concerned about his costume has never been to a RenFaire... he is wearing leather renfaire barbarian armor, and the craftsmen that make/sell it put chaos stars, pentagrams, goats or rams heads, astrology symbols etc on it because that is what sells because the core of the renfaire crowd is made up of lots of goths, metal fans, hippies and DND/fantasy nerds.

Elon is a nerd and probably bought it because he thinks it looks cool. It is absurd to think this shows anything about him being a Satanist. Could he be one? Sure. Would it have anything to do with this costume? Nope. Honestly i would wager money the guy is 100% atheist.

(On another note, the other most common decorations on this type of armor are German sonnerand, celtic crosses and knot work, and crusader crosses. Any of which would no doubt get liberals in a menstrual frenzy calling them "white supremacist Nazi symbols"...)

Right on, Plato's take is interesting also. I was somewhat unclear in exactly how I meant to bring up Jung... I was referencing his theories to certain universal aspects of the human mind and religious/mystical practices regardless of culture as it relates to so many cultures making the same general shapes.

There are two factors, one that there are only so many simple, recognizable and easy to quickly carve shapes people could make, second, the theory that our unconscious provides us all with a fairly universal manifestation of mystical concepts.
