The timing is certainly suspicious. I think it went something like this. Many Democrats were shocked when Trump won in 2016, and they vowed to do anything they could to stop him. It wasn't getting a "memo," but lots of different people wanted to "stop the new Hitler" and "knew what they had to do." A lot of little nudges and winks were exchanged, between bigwigs in private and between bosses and employees. Places that had any pro-Trump sentiment were targeted. A lot of effort went into suppressing some ideas and pushing approved narratives, including making Biden and Harris look vastly more popular than they really are. Then the DNC "plumbers" did their dirty work.
We know from Biden's actions during the Obama administration that one meaning is "graft."

Now that the Swamp is back in control, they need to secure their position by labeling all their opponents as Bad People. Regular people on Reddit etc. are now dangerous and deluded conspiracy theorists, white supremacists, agents of Russia (but oddly, never China). The same people who cheered on BLM/Antifa riots are now lecturing us on the dangers of populism and rabble-rousing. Frankly, I think they are pushing hard because they want some right-wing nuts to start shooting or bombing, because then they'll have an excuse for a major crackdown: gut the 1st and 2nd Amendments, assign a sort of social credit score to all conservatives/Republicans/dissidents, and a lot more.

But my main argument against "controlled demolition" is logic. If someone was going to use explosives to take down the buildings and blame terrorists, why not just do that? They'd already tried it once before, in 1991. Just blowing up the buildings with no warnings would have meant far more casualties. Adding hijacked airliners makes no sense because the hijackings might not succeed (Flight 93) or might not hit their intended target (Flight 77). The hijacking would have been an extra complication with a great risk of failure, and as we saw, half of them did fail.
It's easier than that. All you need are politicians-bureaucrats to give nods and winks to the corporations who are on the same leftist ideology. You don't need to start corporations, pay them, or give them legal orders. They all already understand that traditional America is the real threat and impediment to the glorious Woke utopia they want.

Eh, I don't think that's really true. Newer versions of iOS have higher power demands, so they make tweaks to give older hardware longer battery life. There are always trade-offs.
