The mylar was for thermal purposes and not for radiation proofing. Many people have nutritional deficiences. It is not always easy to identify them, so a solution is simply to slightly overload your system with nutrients and allow it to make its own decisions on need for vitamins and minerals. Protein needs depend wholly on personal exercise levels. Ditto re fats except that one needs to keep cholesterol in check for heart health and saturated fats down. Excess carbs can lead to diabetes so one needs to keep a balance and excess sugars are bad for you. A diet of pizza, potato chips, hamburgers and ice cream will make your widow sad.
