A number of countries around the world have decided to “suggest” to their citizens/subjects/whatever that they have three days of food and water on hand for “emergencies.”
In several cases, there appear to be storms and such that could do some damage which would make sense for them to be prepared. An emergency is three days to three weeks; and, a true disaster is something that lasts longer than three weeks. I highly recommend having enough items on hand to last out an emergency at a minimum.
I am finding it interesting that 18 governments have said basically the same thing.
Recommended the very same time frame and supplies. Not alarmed at this, but am curious.
It's good practice regardless of current events.
I still have food from before Biden inflation.
My stock has pretty much rotated on a regular basis. I've been a prepper since I was young (about 50 years of prepping now). I am the default destination for family and I've told my kids they need to step up their game because I have 20 years or so remaining at best. My grandkids have done much better than my kids. One day the shit will hit the fan, it just might be 50 years from now
not 'all of a sudden'
They said 33 countries in total gave the warning.

boost consumption.
Yup! 4Q 26 retail sales are shit. The panic buying will pad the numbers.
I checked on this, and there's variation.
Every government agrees that three days is just a good practice. Three days is about as long as it takes a modern police and fire force to manage something like an earthquake or flood and get the city open again.
But Germany recommends 10 days of food and 5 days of water. Sweden, Finland, and Norway all recommend one week of food and water. Japan recommends two weeks due to its earthquake problem; the states of Washington and Oregon also recommend two weeks because they're seismically (and volcanically) active.

Pre (before) pare (to produce)...nature produces all before each product within can be used.
If nature produces all (perceivable) before each product (perception) within; then deciding otherwise (suggestion) neglects preparedness.
Before an artificial circle can be shaped...nature produces a line to draw within. The circle represents the suggestion preventing ones perception to think straight.

The low food supply will be blamed on a cyber hack (so predictable).
The US power grid has been on the verge of collapse for decades (remember back in 2000 when the entire Eastern sea board went down for several weeks?) and they're about to seriously provoke Iran, who could easily crash the whole thing with a couple of sleeper cells.
That won't stop them from fucking around, but they also don't have the capacity to help their own people should the inevitable happen.
Don't forget the heat and AC use did Texas in for a spell not that long ago.
