The Nephilim are demons, and if they are demons they work for the father of lies, Satan. In other words, a real likely scenario is that these demons, known liers, lied about coming from Orion, and that found its way into the record.
Yeah, they are more concerned with earth than anywhere, but I'm becoming more enamored of Biblical evidence that they have a little connection to various stars too. Sci-fi has done much to make them look like more physical creatures than they are.
You just did what this conspiracy is about. The meaning of the word today isn't what it meant to the authors at the time the ancient manuscripts were written. It's bad history to put your modern bias into what you're studying.
You can see vocabulary games today. Stop for a moment, and take a look at what the conspiracy is.

Orion is a star cluster of stars close to earth, in as much as Orion can be a place, you could say Earth is in Orion because the Sun is part of Orion's arm (Our section of the Milky Way)
I remember a time when we were in the Sagittarius arm on the outskirts of the milky way...m.e
A vortex, in a vortex, in a vortex.
Vortexception
Vortex/vertere/wer - "to turn"... https://www.etymonline.com/word/vortex
It's circular thinking which makes you think there's a vortex (turn) within a vortex (turn) within a vortex (turn)... you are counting the same circle over and over and over again, while ignoring natural delineation.
It's your mind which clusters stars together, while ignoring that each star exists apart from one another. Apartheid allows ones mind analysis...clustering distracts ones mind with synthesis.
Dan Winter can explain that better than I can.

Nehphilim (to fall) came from or/oar (to row) ion (action)...nephilim implies all falling for each ones rise within, while orion implies all action for each rowing reaction within.
Nehphilim implies the nature (fall) of each being (rise)...orion implies each being (or) within nature (ion).
THEos aka God. There can be only one origin.
It's the suggested word "orion" which connects ones perception (or) and all perceivable (ion)...if one consents to it.
