Who cares about "market shares"? "Market shares" are total scam. When I buy a new computer, first thing I do is formatting a disk with preinstalled microsoft garbage, which is in that "market share". Even windowfiles AKA coprofages, do that, to install their beloved unofficial Windows image they addicted to, where you don't have to spend hours searching and installing all that software needed to make Windows useable.

Only idiot will use Windows in 2026. Last Windows that even most dedicated Microsoft fans admire is Windows 7. Today some heavy modified Windows 10 images, where all MS crap like "Windows Update" and other shit is turned off is mainstream for Windows lovers.

Meanwhile, garbage food have a big market share too. Would you name all those imbeciles who consume this shit as "normal people"? Or those who consume MSM propaganda? I wouldn't. Why it should be different with, say, software, EV or any other shit corporations try to push?

And even more interesting question - why anybody at forum like this will ever give a fuck to "market share"?

There is more than enough alternatives for PC OS that is not connected with corporations. Just choose and use. I don't see any problem with what OP brought. Dumbfucks who continue to eat MS/Apple/Goolge/etc. shit in 2026 fully deserve everything corporations will do with them.

There is high probability that if Jesus appeared today on Earth, he would definitely add ignorance about things people use to the list of sins. Because technological ignorance of modern people, along with lazyness is the highest quality asphalt on the highway to hell today.

Ah, now we’re having a discussion about the shared meaning of words. Normal as in majority, yes. Normal as in sane, no. Which is more important? Which is more powerful?

And even more interesting question - why anybody at forum like this will ever give a fuck to "market share"?

Well, we’re sane. But unless we can write our own operating systems from scratch—which can also work with commercially available software—this is the future for all of us. We’ll have to use government-tracked, software-as-a-service operating systems in order to do our jobs and communicate with other people.

There is high probability that if Jesus appeared today on Earth, he would definitely add ignorance about things people use to the list of sins.

Honestly, He would be justified in just wiping everything out and preaching to the octopi.

I think it's cultural difference. It remind me a scene from a famous Russian movile "Brother 2", when protagonis meet with American businessmen, and ask nim - "Tell me, American, where is the real power? I see, you think that power is in money. My brother think same. But I think the real power is in truth."

Same here. I don't even think about accounting userbase AKA money as something important in a question of control over your own property. :)

It absolutely does not matter how many people use Windows and how rich Microsoft. Windows is shit and there is many much better alternatives. Especially if you need an OS for business. It is very bad when you completely depend on the will of some corporation. Especially in business.

But unless we can write our own operating systems from scratch

You don't need to write an OS from scratch. They are already written by people like us. What you need is to develop it further if something does not satisfy you.

We’ll have to use government-tracked, software-as-a-service operating systems in order to do our jobs and communicate with other people.

No, you don't have to. Don't agree to do the job that demand using government-tracking and SaaS software. If you are not aware, those who know how to deal with free software have higher salaries. Imagine, even corporations don't like when other corporations have them on hook through software or hardware vendor lock. And in the future the salary difference will only grow.

Honestly, He would be justified in just wiping everything out and preaching to the octopi.

He don't need to. Looks like we do that job perfectly. :) And about octopuses... I don't think octopuses have money changers and usurers who worship Satan among them (yet?) so, no need for God to send His Son as a last resort to bring that octopus tribe to their senses. :)

Yeah? Good luck getting my financial department to switch from QuickBooks to one of the open source alternatives…

It is just an administrative problem. You know, Microsoft cancelled their activity in Russia. Sanctions and all that stuff. Suddenly, financial departments of different businesses all over the country found out that they could do their job using opensource and domestic alternatives without any problems. Just like fingers click. There are still some MS "market share", but it is shrinking day by day.

Imagine, whole country suddenly clearly got that they just don't need any Microsoft shit for anything. Microsoft is useless. If most people will get that, that shitty Microsoft corporation will go bankrupt.
