Good luck getting my financial department to switch from QuickBooks to one of the open source alternatives…
It is just an administrative problem. You know, Microsoft cancelled their activity in Russia. Sanctions and all that stuff. Suddenly, financial departments of different businesses all over the country found out that they could do their job using opensource and domestic alternatives without any problems. Just like fingers click. There are still some MS "market share", but it is shrinking day by day.
Imagine, whole country suddenly clearly got that they just don't need any Microsoft shit for anything. Microsoft is useless. If most people will get that, that shitty Microsoft corporation will go bankrupt.
MacOS is no way better than Windows, I would say it is even worse, and could not be installed easily on an arbitrary PC.
There are a lot of independent Linux distributions around. If your hardware is not very fresh, and you don't need to run recent games and office and browser is enough for you, then there are *BSD's, Haiku, even ReactOS if you wish.
Yeah? Good luck getting my financial department to switch from QuickBooks to one of the open source alternatives…

We can only hope. If this story about Windows 12 is true, I foresee several hundred million new *NIX and MacOS installs in the next five years.
