It's the best thing, animally speaking, to be just present like a cat or a dog.
Your organism will reward you for it.
At the same time, we are self aware creatures and mental energy is also a factor to factor.
We are geared towards thought, yes it has a cost, but also a reward for doing it properly. We can self discover things. That's powerful. Like many skills, it has tradeoffs.
What guy is saying is very important, also he uses the right framework: Thought is not the enemy, but it's not the core of life either. Give it its proper dimension, and its good. Make it the core when it isn't, and it becomes cancer.

Yep, that’s par for the course with your posts.
"happiness and pleasure are your goals"
nope, not me

my dad spent hours with his video camera on our holidays. no-one has ever watched the tapes
Yeah that can work if you dont have money problems. Or issues in the family sphere.
Thats when people get stuck on figuring out what happend and how to solve it.
I agree with thw guy, but that can only work if you are selfsustained and only live with likeminded others.
PRESENCE implies each being apart from one another; PRESENT implies the sum of all beings together.
a) You implies me...holding onto one side binds one to the other. That ain't a break, but a bond. Same trick with can vs can't.
b) Break implies whole breaking into partial...not partials breaking and sharing pieces of self with one another.
One cannot give another a break without ignoring that all was giving each one the break of being.
Being able to wield free will of choice implies being given a break.
