Funny thing, I know they let people in the crown, but I swear to god I remember they used to let people into the torch, one or two at a time.
Then it was closed for like 10+ years and after that they stopped letting people go in the torch.
I supposed I could be misremembering this, but it is strange to me.

A giant piece of metal getting hit by lighting? No way.
I figure there is a lightning rod up there or something, but maybe the entire statue itself is grounded to the island.
