Obviously edited. The man was a war hero. He took all kinds of drugs because he was injured in the first world war.

Hitler was a war hero for WW1, a war that never should have been. I give credit to the messenger corporal for bravery there. But he's also a war monger and incompetent leader of Germany for WWII. Such things, as you say, are not mutually exclusive.
