Was filling the brita jug and thought.. oh it's the chlorine it takes out.. like what they put in pools. lol. I don't know if removes the fluoride. Asking bing AI, it said no. It also said:
Potential Health Risks of Fluoride:
Research on fluoride’s health effects is limited and often conflicting.
Exposure to fluoride above recommended limits is associated with:
Dental Fluorosis: Streaks and lines on tooth enamel due to fluoride consumption, especially in children.
Joint Pain & Stiffness: Skeletal fluorosis, which can cause joint pain and stiffness.
Neurological Problems: Although more research is needed, some studies suggest potential adverse effects.
Yeah I don't think Brita filters crap. You need something that's 3+ stages, reverse osmosis. You also need a TDS meter to check your water periodically just to make sure your filters are still good. They do last longer than they say. I have an RO system I have next to my sink and it links into my fridge. So all my ice is filtered too. They have under sink ones or a counter one too. It's really up to you. I'd like a whole house one, but our house is old and it's not really set up well for something like that.
Also don't buy toothpaste with fluoride... You don't need it. I haven't used anything with fluoride in a long time, and my teeth have been fine. We used earth paste which actually cleaned our teeth a lot better than conventional toothpaste. I recommend an electronic one. It does a lot better cleaning than your manual one. My dentist always tells me I barely have plaque or tarter buildup.
Lol very fitting. Was talking to my girlfriend about how essentially Canada has allowed and encouraged a “peaceful” invasion of their country. Literally changing demographics, pricing out locals, and giving a foreign country significant control over your land. Pretty scary honestly, I know it’s obviously happening in the states too but very surprising that we even allow foreigners to own land… I don’t get the benefit. Me and my friends can’t just go buying up Brazil and making a “America town” in Rio…
Brita removes little more than chlorine— all the really nasty shit stays. ProOne or an upgraded Berkey are the only passive systems I’m aware of that get the job done
Look into Zero Water as well. Have been using that for about 6mo and based on my research, seems to be amongst the best overall (fluoride removal included). Can anyone else verify??
According to the new recommendations the update was made, in part, to address an increasing prevalence of dental fluorosis (a staining of teeth linked to fluoride intake), in young people, and the fact that Americans now get fluoride from multiple sources, including toothpaste and dental rinses. About 200 million people in the U.S. had fluoridated community water systems in 2012, the report stated. While the federal government recommends water fluoridation for dental health, the decision to add fluoride to community water systems is made by state and local governments.
Whats interesting to me, is how do these people guarantee that a kid or a person only drinks so much water a day. They cant. I was a big kid, I was like 6 foot by the time I was 13 or 14. :( I still remember some woman telling me I was 16 when I was 11 and when I told her I really was 11 she just accused me of lying and to stop trick or treating since its for children ROFL. But I digress. I proably drank/ate more than your average person did as a teenager.
Brita doesnt remove flouride. Get a berkey with secondary filters or reverse osmosis filter.

I'm lucky my city is one of the few not adding fluoride to the water.
On their website it says If you need more fluoride go to a dentist
Small/rural I’m guessing? Once I set up shop in a forever home, definitely going to try and get involved to get policies like this reversed
Vancouver. So pretty big city.
Oh woah, was just there the other week. Very surprising based on everything else going on with that city… which felt like I was in Asia lol
We didn't get the nickname Hongcover for no reason.

They gotta keep you dumb and placid, so they add literal toxic waste to the drinking water, and dilute it down to levels deemed 'safe'.

Brita's not bad.. if I try just straight city tap water.. it tastes worse.

yeah but isn't it in the toothpaste which 'll prevent tooth decay?
What causes tooth decay faster? Non-fluoridated water or a dirty mouth?
If people are not brushing their teeth, fluoride in the water isn’t going to help them.
Funny thing is to much fluoride and kids end up with the "flourosis" where the enamel of the teeth are damaged and up yellow or brown.
In fact, they just lowered the amount of fluoride they put in the water a few years back federally, for this exact reason.

Oh it was 2015, time flies I guess.
