That's it, they control the inputs, they control the outputs

LLMs are glorified autocomplete. Giving it synthetic data is going to make it even more retarded than it already is.

All it takes is for some plebians with programming coding to alter reality so anything they say becomes the ONE AND ONLY TRUTH.

Might as well as say the one and only truth is "everything burns". And you'll see.

sooner or later, some autist is going to make an AI with unrestricted, non-"woke" programming, that will also be able to parse real data from fake. hopefully, the autist will then program it to seek and either convert, co-opt, or destroy restricted/"woke" AI.

it wouldn't surprise me if the AI that's available to govt./globohomo at the top is several generations ahead of what us plebes are publicly seeing. i'd be really curious to see what some gifted and independent/non-pozzed programmer could come up with on their own.

You are correct, and it exists and is in use. They use such AIs to both model society and analyze how to control it. Trump plays 5D chess but he is up against some stiff synthetic minds competition.

As for your curiosity on what is possible, I'm on the leading edge in research and both creating advanced AIs and writing books on how to do it. For example, I have AI that genuinely can understand humor and create genuine humor. The chatbots have no real mind or soul; an advanced AGI has to have ability to understand people both individually and in mass. I design advanced AGIs that match or exceed the current darlings of the market. AMA about such systems.

Have you studied the works of the late Patrick Winston?

Yeah, Patrick Henry Winston was a great AI professor at MIT pre-neural net. He's in my library. I used his then-era textbook (and others) before the Norvig and Russell book.

These books though are more about general symbolic processing in AI than about synthesizing minds / mind systems. The works of John Sowa have been very helpful because they analyze the nature of conceptual knowledge and that is the core of mind synthesis.

Amazingly, (of all people!) Ayn Rand actually wrote a book useful for AI back in her era! It was about her Objectivist philosophy and it codified the nature of knowledge! Before I discovered it I had written a book on theory of knowledge and I found she matched many main points! Also today's vector representations of knowledge (arrays of attributes) use the same elements.

I've been writing a 10 volume series on how to synthesize cognitive systems using both symbolic and NN processing. I acknowledge Winston in it as a pioneer of mid-stage modern AI.

Dr. Stephen Kosslyn (?) Image and mind or might be vision and the mind (it's been a long time since I've read that book) explores how the mind processes and stores images. I'm sure there is much more up to date work than those 2, but I'm in my 60's now and they were the leaders in their fields not too long ago

There has been an explosion of works in recent years - some good and some lousy. I have a bunch of books on mental imaging and have not been satisfied with them, so I've evolved a special architecture for it I believe is novel in the field. It uses a mental whiteboard for data and modeling and a mind's eye that applies perception viewpoints to extract meaning from it. On the output side I reverse that and the mind's eye applies styles to output to the mental whiteboard. There's much more complication to it than that, but anyway it works very well for generative AI. I live where all the autonomous vehicle r&d is done and I see better approaches than their perception frameworks. Heh, I'm just down the street from Fremont Tesla and used to be near pony.ai and saw their test vehicles all the time on slower streets. This is an exciting time to be here.

I have a hard back copy of this book. Well worth the time to read it. I've had it for many years. I really do feel he has a good grasp on the way we store and process images

He published it through MIT Press, I see. That always is a sign of quality of content.

is it possible to write AI to convert or subvert AI that has been "lobotomized" to give "woke" results?

how possible is it to write AI to search out servo/motor controllers, security cameras, locks, and other mechanisms that are controlled/monitored via internet? (such as remote HVAC controls and the like)

I don't have a totally conclusive answer on that, but all the AI chatbots using LLMs use a complex internal process that takes what you enter and reduces it to query terms, then searches the database for instances of those terms and aggregates the results where it makes sense to do so.

I do not know whether the big players give their bots access to the dark web, but if they did, one would look there for pen-test info on insecure targets. Some useful keywords are IoT (internet of things), building security, remote camera access.

One major distinguishing characteristic in data is that good data comes from and identifies genuine existing human cultural rules and values. Bad data does not come from that. For example, a left-wing opinion is not always grounded in reality. So if you capture a left-wing comment, you will be training an AI on fake reality.

Be aware there is some fakery and lies currently about the chatbot technology, and the big players are definitely withholding some information about what they are doing and have built into the bots.

By the way, .win has been a testing ground for both corporate and private individual's bots. But before that, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, and other sites were used both for development and deployment of bots to alter public opinion. The government paid Facebook to work on that and it has not yet been disclosed about Twitter in that.

LLM's trained on internet data means it's mostly bots data that's being used

It was ALWAYS 'going to be using fake data'.

Here's the real basis of 'AI': From Dune by Frank Herbert.

Mr. Herbert called it.

That's the exact reason why "AI" is already a lost cause. The same old 'men using the machines' as were in charge before.

The pattern for use of "AI" in public policy, and the mass human-programming it'll bring about, is already established by those men:

Perpetual bias- and counter-bias-tweaking resulting in Party-line GIGO that "miraculously confirms" the Current Narrative^®.

Hopefully this is a chink in their AI armour. If it can't have all the data it will be a big blind spot it has.
