Protesting represents ones consent to the protested. In other words...not wanting what others choose to do gives others the power of ones consent to do it more efficiently; hence consent by self validates choice of others, while devaluating ones own choice.
If one "reddit", then one consented to the suggestion of it...protesting what one already consented to affirms the suggested.
