Either there was a problem with me and my browser, or some developer had a hissy fit that there was suddenly traffic to this page and shut off access.
Now it's back.
I saved screenshots, however, of it not working.
The consensus response seems to be to turn off search highlights.
I haven't tested this -- I'm using Windows 10 -- but in the interest of completeness, here it is one solution:
right click on the task bar, go to "Search" (top option). This will pull up a drop-down menu. De-select "show search highlights". It immediately removes it.
There is an excess of extra services that have online connectivity. It is bloated and sloppy. The remediation services undo most of the things you used to be able to do to stop services etc. You can cornhole the OS, it is just a tedious process.
The only hope I have is that they locked the thread about it, just like last year.
When you get rid of their censorship, it's pretty clear everyone hates their faggotry.
you'd be amazed. Even random dipshit unity games that were exported to Windows run flawlessly on Linux using proton. The only ones that for sure don't work are the Chinese spyware games that use ring zero """anti-cheat""".
I rarely find an app I need that doesn't have a Linux version. So I'm not seeing "most" missing on Linux.
If you truly rely on photoshop then that sucks. Though not hard to run a windows VM just for that on a decent new machine. Then keep the rest of your data out of Windows hands.
The conspiracy is that windows 11 is pushing propaganda right to the front of your personal computer operating system and GUI.
Working much like a "smartphone" at this point where it is a spy device and propaganda device.

Well, it's working today.

Has Windows become Spyware? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT4vDfA_4NI
Analysis using WireShark to analyze inbound and outbound traffic of Windows 11 in comparison to Windows XP
Better comparison would be with linux
Others here have mentioned spyware at the hardware level (intel, amd, etc), which is another arena to contend with.
Become?

Holy shit, this is not some reddit bullshit. I hate "widgets" so I never saw it as I removed them long ago.

Well, you should take a look at KDE's brand new logo on reddit... https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/

do you hear that sound, way off in the distance? that is me. laughing in Proton.

Linux does run most apps. As a software developer it provides all I need. It only lacks with a certain portion of games and yes abode bullshit.
I feel compelled to say: WINE is not an emulator.
I rarely find an app I need that doesn't have a Linux version. So I'm not seeing "most" missing on Linux.

Not photoshop but works close enough for me https://www.gimp.org/
Aww - did the rainbow flag upset you? What a pathetic snowflake you are.
Has there been a way to run Windows programs on Linux? I remember wine used to do it but was hit and miss. Need Windows for work programs.
Like someone else said, virtual machine
There's substitutes for practically every app.
You could have a dual boot system
Not convinced u really need windows.
Maybe have work computer a separate computer and use Linux for everything else.
