I expect things to get worse and see more extortion and coercion in 1st world countries. How did the East handle this sort of thing? Did the same type of events slowly start happening with previously trusted institutions?
I am wondering how professionals like doctors, accountants, dentists will being extorting and coercing people??? How do you think? How to avoid this?
The dog owner went in with good intentions but the diagnosis was not confirmed by anyone else and the cost was high for a low income person (vet could have easily done it for free since probably killing the dog would have been just as expensive.
The dog owner wanted to take his dog elsewhere and think about it. But the vet wouldn't let him take his dog. :(
This is the the type of thing that reviews were made for. Word of mouth also. The vet may win that dog, but others can be prevented from going.
The reviews will help. But, you're right. In small towns people are more likely to have hunting equipment.
I was gonna say, do that to a person who is nothing left to lose, and that vet will be dead. Which honestly would be very satisfying to hear.
Hopefully... I will post about it on some local forums. I just feel so bad for that guy. Can you imagine going in to have your dog helped and instead the vet seizing your dog, plans to kill him and calls the cops? Nightmare material.
Cops are a nightmare. I called 911 for a medical emergancy once, and an ambulance never came for my son. Only police. Defund them all.
If you have a dying dog who’s gonna suffer they absolutely will keep it unless you sign an AMA (against medical advice) waiver. You’ve gotta ask to sign the waiver. Source dated a vet for 3 years and she’d cry when people wouldn’t pay to help severely injured dying dogs and then would sign a waiver.
