Do not invest in long range, invest in suppression. There's a reason they're going after mag cap and fire rate.

Suppression is key.

Edit: I mean invest in whatever you want, but first priority should be suppression to 200ish yards. 556, 762. And CQC, SBRs, Pistols, Bullpups.

I mean if you're preparing for defense.

It's never a bad idea to be able to eliminate an enemy without them knowing you're even there, and being far enough away that you can get out before they can find your position.

Snipers are incredibly demoralizing to an occupying army. Hit and run. Chip away.

Do you tell your boyfriend to yell "covering fire" when he bends you over?

Clearly you don't remember the DC sniper, you mincing faggot.

Most people can't hit a stationary white-tail at 100 yards, with practice. You're going to suggest someone try to become a sniper on a normie board? Go back to CoD, kid, the adults are talking.

I'm sure, when the civil war starts, it will be easy to find replacement 338 Lapua ammo just lying around...

I'd get a common caliber because, as shortages progress, ammunition factories will tailor production to higher-demand items.

"But mah sniper." I've seen a YouTube video of a dude lob a subsonic 300BLK 1100yds and hit steel. Just get good.

But, a subsonic 300BLK at 1100yds has about 120 joules of energy remaining, while a 7.62 x 51 supersonic has about 2600 joules (about 5 Mike Tyson punches). That's the difference between killing a bear and injuring a field mouse.

Hey I'm prepared for the days when the only food within 1100 yards is a field mouse. All I have to do is wing him, and my dog will do the rest!

You can do want you want but, consider - Don't buy house now. Wait for the market to crash in a year or 2.

We have already reached peak and there is some slippage in prices.

The amount you save buying at fire sale prices versus top bubble prices might enable you to buy accessories you want.

Remember, when you are considering your mortgage borrowing, the interest rates may double or quadruple in the next 5/10 years so you might not be able to affordable it and be forced to sell.

Have you considered living in a multi generational house - like with an inlaw suite? And convert a garage to another living area? Or rent out the main house and live in the inlaw suite, making the renters pay the mortgage?

Also if the house is a fixer upper in some areas, contractors and workers are backed up 6months +++. Seems like some supplies have shortages, not sure about home renovation in particular. So factor that into the house you get.

On the flipside, we might be in a correction during a melt up. I personally believe that the S&P 500 will reach near 10,000 before the real crash. The price of oil is definitely going to put a hamper on the economy, but assuming this price hike in oil disappears before ruining everything, this downturn will quickly turn into a flaming rally into the ludicrous realm when oil prices reach sub-$100 and the fed stops rate hiking again (which they will). It doesn't mean the economy will get better, in fact it will probably be much worse at that point, but the price of everything will continue to skyrocket, including houses and the stock market.

Can I make a recommendation? Remington 700 long action with .300 WinMag. .300 WinMag is cheaper to produce and has the same kind of destructive power as .338 LM and almost as good ballistic coefficient. .300 WinMag is a perfectly good round for stopping a tractor that is out of control on the farm and you're unable to pull the keys from the ignition. It's also powerful enough and long enough range to take down your self propelled cropdusting helicopter at altitudes up to 3000 feet, as long as your cropdusting helicopter does not have the optional rally fun pack with hail proof windows and panels. For those models you need .50 BMG with API rounds, or better.

Seriously, save the money by purchasing .300 win mag and you will not regret it. Purchase a tank style break and you will have literally zero recoil or muzzle rise. It's a great round to invest in, in case things ever go crazy on your farm.

That ammo is just ungodly pricey at $5/rd. Unless you anticipate needing to disable light-skinned vehicles, perhaps you should consider going down one notch to 300 Win Mag at $1.50/rd.

There is a reason 5 countries are going after funs. They are important.

But the Mexican border seems pretty open so maybe they will always be available

Rifle: $2000

Decent scope: $1000-6000(night vision/thermal)

Ammo: $5/rd = $5000/case

Plus other accessories : $100-500

I'd say that's a pretty expensive insurance policy but if you have the money and a potential use case then go for it.

Not the best web design but they are good. I bought a PVS-14 from them before.

hah I don't really know much (but I do watch a lot of yootube videos) however I wouldn't invest in a sniper/big game rifle without budgeting for a decent thermal scope and a shitload of ammo or reloading supplies.

Without a badass optic you might as well go with an AR-10 in .308, imo.

Will the prices be higher after the EO? If you bought 2 now and then one was extra?

If it's your first house, probably still worth it to offer rent imo.

This post makes me want to buy that gun I've been thinking about
