I'm sure, when the civil war starts, it will be easy to find replacement 338 Lapua ammo just lying around...
I'd get a common caliber because, as shortages progress, ammunition factories will tailor production to higher-demand items.
"But mah sniper." I've seen a YouTube video of a dude lob a subsonic 300BLK 1100yds and hit steel. Just get good.
But, a subsonic 300BLK at 1100yds has about 120 joules of energy remaining, while a 7.62 x 51 supersonic has about 2600 joules (about 5 Mike Tyson punches). That's the difference between killing a bear and injuring a field mouse.
Hey I'm prepared for the days when the only food within 1100 yards is a field mouse. All I have to do is wing him, and my dog will do the rest!
🤣 true that!
