Just a few months ago the Pentagon reported Russia had hypersonic missles far beyond U.S. technology. Now they claim the Russian army is running out of bullets and gas. (theculturechronicles.com) Politics

Yes, we were winning hearts and minds in Afghanistan for twenty years, on the cusp of making them a flourishing democracy and member of the international community. A veritable Muslim Denmark!

The weak supply line narrative itself seems weak. Russia has trains that literally go up to a few hundred miles from the front. I think it's more likely that it appears weak because it's strategically spread to support various scenarios such as hold, advance, partially retreat to strongpoint, full retreats, etc.

In my impression, this particular bit of the overall narrative - that Russia is militarily inadequate or inept - is actually favored by both sides. It's essentially proclaiming that Russia poses no threat to NATO/EU, so that the western nations won't get itchy trigger fingers and heat up the conflict further.

As a result, the global situation stays generally calm, with only economic and diplomatic sanctions, which have turned out to be token gestures at best, now that the ruble is going back up.

And in the meantime, Russia can continue to operate in Ukraine, while your average legacy and social media consumer can drool in waiting for the weak and incompetent Russians to surrender and run away... any day now... just a bit longer... You get the point.

If anything, it's rather refreshing that it's the leftoids that are getting hung up on the "two more weeks" deal for a change.

If "bullets" could be explained with weak logic of "they trow all MIC on building that hypersonic missile and didn't manufacture bullets", but I can't get any sane explanation about "out of gas". Russia pump oil literally from the ground and make gas routinely. Even during the worst times there was no any serious shortages of gas. Ukraine did not even try to bomb Russian gas factories or oil wells. How they hope to explain that "out of gas" thing?

Of course I understand that there are no need to explain anything in propaganda, but as one who grow up in USSR I perfectly know that propaganda without any logic quickly become ignored and lose any sense.

They have enough gas but they are not able to efficiently bring it to the frontlines.

Why? They are not encircled, unlike Ukrainian troops. They encircle Ukrainian troops on the East.

Why?

Because Ukrainians keep blowing up supply convoys, Russians are demotivated and demoralized and their trucks are old and decrepit.

Seriously? Ecircled in the East region Urkainian troops blow up something outside the circle? Loosing expensive ammo without supply needed for defence on dirt cheap and endless tank-trucks with weak probability to hit the target due to distance? You are the worst tactic I ever met. I hope real encircled Ukrainians are much more sane and will use that ammo to help to break the circle from inside if Ukrainian government finally decide to help them.

To find yoursef encircled is OK, it is not a rare thing in war,. But to resolve it with minimum losses circle should be broken from outside. As far as I know Ukrainian government now concentrated on the negotiations and does not have any plans to save encircled troops. So there is a plan nobody knows about, something like to distract enemy with negotiations and break the circle to save their forsaken soldiers?

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2022/3/31/2089190/-Ukraine-Update-Amidst-tactical-withdrawal-Russia-suffers-its-worst-day-yet

It was around 350 kilometers (220 miles) from the Russian border to Brovary, on Kyiv’s eastern edge. If you look closely, not a single town on that highway was held by Russia, with Sumy being particularly glaring. Thus, Ukrainian territorial defense forces, drones, special forces, and local farmers feasted on tasty, exposed, under-protected supply convoys. Russia’s outpost on Nova Basan is all that’s left of that effort, likely running low on supplies, and facing imminent annihilation (or, if they’re smart, surrender). That entire orange tendril isn’t long for this war

...

By under-resourcing both lines of attack, both failed spectacularly. The Kryvyi Rih attack ran out of gas (likely literally) before even reaching its target. And that salient is now getting rolled back.

You could also cite some shit from Russian propaganda or something about "safe and effective vaccines" from either of them. No difference

It is not a question about shitty lies of MSMs, it is a practical question of would encircled troops spend ammo for dubious targets, or will save them to use in the battle to break the circle.

English is not a language you are very familiar with, is it? Your sentences are really hard to understand.

At the end, are the Russians still big on ammo?

I'm sure they have plenty of 7.62x39, their standard rifle round. They export an enormous amount of those. Maybe shortages of artillery shells?

Finally somebody with brain. Country that sells AKs left and right and for each one you get container of bullets.... run out of ammo. That's like Libya run out of sand.

If the current US administration is claiming something you can be sure it is a lie.
