I'm not familiar with appropriate pricing, but it did seem like Reddit was asking for a lot of money that it was obvious that the intentions weren't exclusive to greed, but moreso control.
People have been mentioning things like IPO, monopolizing user data, or maybe disempowering the few woke mods who apparently have influence over most of Reddit, censoring anything they don't personally like. But no matter what angle, it doesn't seem too big of a deal whether the ship or the passengers go down over there.

Too reactionary as if I were still on Reddit. Lot's of spinning and playing to the extremes, associating allowing FE as the same as allowing pedo content is disingenuous. This just seems like a overly reactional appeal to one's ego, but disingenously framing it as doing something for the greater good. Again, very Reddit-like behavior.
WIth that said, I can sympathize if it's spammy and redundant, but I barely see it come up. I don't think the decision has to be set in stone though. If it actually gets out of hand in the future then I can understand taking action, but now it just seems like someone lashing out at hearing things they want to hear that seldom come up anyways. I think most normal people just roll their eyes at seeing the occasional thing they disagree with and move on with their day. If in the future it's a big deal then okay, maybe something should be done.
I haven't watched the whole thing, but in the lecture, there's a great graphic of the typical pyramid structure of an organization then combined with a circular one to show how the leaders in the middle collude with each other and are unaffected when the outer members attack each other. It would be a good graphic to show normies when they get trapped in the loop of bickering with other "sides."
