^ They're gonna have to upgrade their servers. Even this community started crashing when people from TDW began moving over en mass.

True for TDW -- although, then I'd argue there is no right to complain if you subscribe to the belief that Twitter is facially leftist MSM -- but Parler brands (branded, if it's delisted) itself as "free speech-driven" and "unbiased," despite banning contrary opinions (e.g., here, here).

That's fine, I'll keep responding. You seem to downvote every comment I post, which just reinforces my opinion that you're scared of what I'm saying.

I honestly don't have the knowledge to answer that, they definitely could be designed that way.

If the fire extinguisher story is true, I have a feeling this was probably a case of delayed traumatic intracranial hemorrhage. The back of the head is particularly vulnerable to this kind of injury, hence why rabbit punches and other strikes to the back of the head are banned in all fighting sports.

The video is more for corroboration than anything, but fire extinguishers typically weigh like 30-35 pounds. That's about the weight of a cinder block, two average bowling balls, or 140 sticks of butter. Shit can do damage.

I fucking love the part of flat earth theory that we're surrounded by a massive ice wall. However, that's probably just either Ronne-Filchner, Ross or McMurdo ice shelf in Antarctica.

I agree it's shitty, but this is more of a matter of economics than anything else. A failure of a major bank (e.g., Lehman Brothers) is an economic nuke. I totally agree that fraudsters within banks need to be criminally prosecuted, which didn't happen in the '08 recession, but letting banks fail harms the public more than those who own the bank.

Twitter guy really likes to omit context to support his point, not to mention this is from a 2-day old article. The claim about the medical condition is also unofficial and, in fact, comes from the same source as the fire extinguisher claim. Of course, he omitted that because it doesn't fit his narrative:

According to sources familiar with the matter, authorities believe Sicknick's death was driven by a medical condition. They're also investigating reports that he was attacked with a fire extinguisher or another item at the Capitol, sources said. So far, reports of an attack haven't been confirmed and authorities are hoping to locate video or other imagery from the scene.

There's literally a video of the guy getting hit with a fire extinguisher lol

Ah, right. I'm sorry that I don't make sure I give my affirmative action comment to the 1-in-30 non-political post on this website.

When the vast majority of a website is political, as you seem to concede, expect the vast majority of my comments to relate to it.

I guess you didn't really read my comment. I understand that you're on TDW, but this isn't that.

A diversity of opinion is healthy for any community. The fact that you suggest otherwise rings of irony given that you almost certainly disagree with Twitter's decision to suspend right-wing accounts.

Could it possibly be because everything on here is political?

So can we finally ghost Ron Watkins after none of this comes true?

It makes me feel great. The way I see it, this community needs to remain open to all opinions. Although you might strongly disagree with my thoughts, I hope that others -- who share similar views that do not conform to the majority on this website -- see my content and know that this is an open place to express their thoughts.

As of right now, not much. There's very specific carveouts for things like child pornography and sex trafficking (i.e., what caused the recent crackdown on Pornhub), but for the last year all the talk has been about curtailing protection under Section 230 -- which is what currently prevents most lawsuits against web hosts. Ironically, Senator Hawley was one of the most recent politicians to propose cuts to Section 230's protection.

Additionally, there has been an increase in successful challenges to Section 230 in some lower courts. See, e.g., M.L. v. Craigslist, No. C19-6153, *5-9 (W.D. Wash. Sep. 11, 2020) (finding, in part, plaintiff's claims that Craigslist is responsible for developing offending content because the advertisements were developed (a) in conjunction with Craigslist's rules, (b) advertisers paid Craigslist a fee, (c) Craigslist enabled anonymous communication, and (d) Craigslist hosted an "erotic services" section sufficient to overcome a motion to dismiss pursuant to Section 230).

If I had to guess, the in-house counsel at these companies has seen the writing on the wall and is trying to safeguard against future lawsuits, should Section 230 protection be degraded -- which is what seems to be happening.

Not sure if this is directed at me or OP, but I've been here pretty much since this community opened.

Lmfao. This is getting desperate. This is all cumulative evidence, just with the name "Italy" attached to it.

This is the same schizophrenic that claimed a bunch of stock, unfilled ballots -- i.e., the ones people literally use to vote -- sitting in a warehouse after the election was evidence of voter fraud. Does he have a source for his claim?

newuserfromreddit -2 points ago +1 / -3

You have one president. On January 20th, you'll have one president. The notion of civil war coming from any of this is absurd and pure LARP.

Yeah, not like he's been tweeting about the Insurrection Act for months or anything...

-2
newuserfromreddit -2 points ago +1 / -3

Any evidence to support that? Last I checked, Trump and Boris are different people.

Sorry for the double reply, I just wanted to make my record here too. A significant amount of those calling for violence are verifiable, genuine users, see, e.g., guy calling for Congress to be stormed and occupied. It's irrelevant if the mods endorsed those comments, what they show is that the community -- writ large -- had a significant amount of people that believed violence was appropriate.

I'm not going to link them here because, frankly, I don't have time right now to dive into the TDW logs. However, I recall seeing a ton of front-page posts on that website calling for resort to the "ammo box" as the election lawsuits were progressively defeated in court.
