I wholeheartedly disagree with Twitter's decision to ban and censor Donald Trump and other right-wing activists. I likewise wholeheartedly disagree with the violent protest in the capitol on January 6th.

However, none of this means we're going to civil war. Since November, most politicians, academics, and legal scholars have been predicting that Biden will be confirmed and inaugurated. Frankly, most non-right websites have said the same. While groups on the right were pushing a narrative about voter fraud and how democracy is dead, groups on the left registered thousands of voters and mobilized grassroots activism to win both GA senate seats through a democratic election.

The only people truly shocked by this development are those who have isolated themselves in echo-chamber websites like TheDonald.Win and Parler. Of those people, the ones committed to physical activism went to the rally on January 6th. Of those people, the ones committed to unlawful action to sustain Trump's presidency stormed the capitol.

The people that stormed the capitol lasted a half hour and are now shitposting about how one of them was shot by the secret service. These aren't revolutionaries capable of waging a civil war, and their cause is one that most rationally believe is not worthy of civil war.

They're just LARPers and copers who themselves wanted to usurp a democratic change of power. To my friends on the right who are certainly active in this community, your actions are best spent -- as I have said since Trump lost in November -- on grassroots politics, local governments, and gearing up for the next election cycle.

My thus-far correct prediction remains the same, nothing will come of this.
