Coloring all the items white is meant to make this appear as a controlled environment, and to hide the island. This clearly does not work for that purpose, as the island is highly visible from the start. I believe what it actually does is obscure the logic as presented in concluding documentation.

When I was a child, I was brought into a basement to be... violated.
