Fuck. I'm a little late to the party, but now we could finally have the Sandy Hook/Boston Marathon round table since we're not on that other shithole website anymore.
So you're saying your not a fan of freedom? You prefer government oversight, surveillance, and control over how people spend their money going forward?
Both of these articles demonstrate an extreme lack of understanding of the importance of crypto, bitcoin in particular. The second one is especially disturbing.
The purpose Bitcoin serves is to give economic freedom back into the hands of the people all over the world, and take it OUT of the hands of the international banksters and oligarchs that have used their complete monopoly over currency creation to fuck over the citizens for centuries.
Proof of Work is necessary because it helps provide a basis for value, as the conversion of energy into complex problem solving costs money and resources to do, hence giving a general basis of value. It also provides a level of security unmatched by anything that a Proof of Stake system can deliver.
The people who say that crypto is "bad for the environment" always seem to be the same people that buy into all of the other shit they claimed would happen with our climate but never panned out. Same people who think "the world will end in 12 years" if we don't join the Paris Climate nonsense.
In reality, it will likely lead to advances in energy generation and efficiency, because whomever can figure out a way to mine most efficiently or for the lowest energy costs will be more profitable and successful. It incentivizes finding ways to mine more efficiently. Better for the free market to drive technological advancements than any governmental or bureaucratic organization.
It's always fun when you find topics like this on Google. When it's so blatantly obvious that their algorithm was customized to hide or obfuscate that specific topic. Happens a lot with certain news stories too.
Fuck Google. Just stop using them altogether.
Fair enough, but what's the non-sucky equivalent? Signal?
What about starting a Discord?
You're not very good at this...
Every house has a mailbox, but not every house has a computer. I don't see "email" ever replacing physical mail handled by the government.
Here. Transfer them here.
Are all the mods left there compromised? A few of them still there I always thought to be decent.
Then again, I haven't been over there in a minute, so I'm not sure who else they shitcanned.
Aka "FBI seeking to find and suppress any information or videos that will contradict whatever narrative TPTB try to claim happened"
Could also add the "shooting" of Alison Parker, that news reporter in Virginia who was allegedly shot live on air.
Given how much public media attention and Hollywood productions that have talked shit on the NSA (including Snowden, who was also CIA and I still don't really trust), it almost makes sense which side they would be on.
We at least know for 100%, fuck the CIA.
Project Blue Beam will be what the government and media use to control and distract the masses once Trump is out of office (whichever year that will be).
Until them, he's the evil boogieman they can use to drive their ratings every day. The second he leaves, they'll need something else in order to sustain the clickbait rage content bullshit they've been peddling for the last 4+ years.
But the NYT, Washington Post, CNN and everyone on twitter told me there's zero evidence of Trump's absurd and ridiculous unsubstantiated claims.
Therefore every one of these links must be Russian disinformation.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed Iran-backed militias for the attack that he said wounded Iraqi civilians.
Surrrrre they did Mike. It was "Iran-backed" militias. Totally.
Damn, normally I don't find any of these types of "this person doesn't look like the same person" posts very convincing... but wtf is this? Is it even possible to change your hair part like that? And why no sound in the video?
Very strange. Definitely something to keep tabs on.
Just a coincidence though, I'm sure ^^^/s
Aka socialists
Ever hear of Event 201?
The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY. The exercise illustrated areas where public/private partnerships will be necessary during the response to a severe pandemic in order to diminish large-scale economic and societal consequences.
Typically I would agree with you. But I would argue that my goal is to make sure we don't have mods that DO try to gain power over people. The whole point is to maintain free speech, by preventing those kinds of people from getting mod spots.
I've was an r/conspiracy user for 6+ years, and saw what happened to it first hand. As someone who would like to see this place not follow the same path, I'd argue I can bring a unique perspective for how to avoid that happening.
How do you suggest handling things like brigades and communities of people who's sole intention is to destroy this community? Make it toxic, or control the narrative like they do on reddit, or otherwise just spam everything and make it harder to find good content. Because that will all come too. As you grow your site with good content, the more bad actors you attract.
I would be in full support of letting axo be the sole mod, as I think he did a fantastic job over on r/conspiracy. But I'm just not sure it that would be realistically feasible.
I would love to throw my hat in the ring as mod. I made it to the final rounds of voting for the position on r/conspiracy, but was vetoed by the same mods that have led to it's downfall over the last 4+ years, and allowed it to become the compromised mess that it is today. TMOR has also long had a hard-on for my posts, and have brigaded many of my submissions (which I wear as a badge of honor at this point).
Here is my profile for those interested in my positions on all things conspiracy related.
More than happy to answer any questions from users here regarding my qualifications for the position.
Came here to recommend this exact article to you... happy to see that it's in fact the one you linked already!
Next check out Dave's article on the Boston Marathon..
My bad, I didn't clarify. Everything you listed about cash is why it's so great. However, we are inevitably moving towards a cashless (or less cash) society). In which case, we all should be praying for that cashless system to be bitcoin, rather than US dollars in the form of 1s and 0s controlled by Visa, Amex and Mastercard, backed by the Federal Reserve or the IMF.
I'd push back a little on the spending 100k on materials to build a garage and not a word would be said. Trying to spend that level of cash untracked is nearly impossible these days. You couldn't even withdraw that amount from a bank without sending up red flags all over the place. And if you had that all saved under a mattress from a cash paying job, claiming the building on your taxes the following year without tracing where the money came from will likely attract some attention from the IRS or even law enforcement under the guise of money-laundering prevention.
As for people being tortured with the click of a button, I'm not quite sure what that is in reference to, though I don't doubt that it happens. Just like I'm sure there are people tortured with cash payments all over the world as well. That's just an unfortunate circumstance of freedom. There are bad people in the world, and they will do bad things. But if they were unable to do those things with bitcoin, then it would mean that bitcoin is not free (like cash is). If you give someone the power to prevent even evil transactions, then that means they have the power to prevent other transactions as well. That's one of the beauties (and unfortunate realities) of what makes bitcoin such a powerful force for freedom.
