It depends how badly shit hits the fan. If it’s just in the US, silver would be something that we have that still has value to the rest of the world. If shit hits the fan worldwide and we’re living off the land, metals wouldn’t be a medium of exchange until we were doing more than just trying not to die. People would barter first, but a medium of exchange is eventually needed. You grow wheat and your neighbor who thinks his dick is going to fly off if he eats gluten happens to be the guy with the cows who produce milk. You could really use some milk for your cereal you make with your wheat, but wheat is your trade and the milk dude doesn’t want it. You’d have to trade some of your wheat with the dude who grows potatoes just to get something that the dude with the milk wants, so in a couple days you trek over to the potato guys farm and trade him some wheat for his potatoes, then you go back to the dairy farm only to find out that the gluten free milk guy ended up getting a sack of potatoes yesterday and doesn’t need any anymore. Now you’re left sitting there thirsty as fuck eating some potatoes with your cereal instead of milk.
See? What a pain in the ass to go through just because you wanted some goddamn milk for your cereal. If only there was something that everyone wanted because it was a means to get anything that they want... something has to fill that role, and it’s been precious metals for millennia. They’re a tried and true currency so it makes sense that people would go back to it.

The stock market is about to crash and the dollar is being destroyed by inflation. I think precious metals are really where people need to put their money right now to retain value. But I also think that the way the silver market has been manipulated for decades, investing in silver is going to be much greater than just storing value, people will make a killing by gaining a half centuries worth of market correction over the course of a year if WSBs gets enough traction buying silver.
He’s honest about it being his website because his username is the same as his web address. Would you rather him have an incognito username and post a link to his site?

I am too. I did very well selling everything I had in the market in February last year. I bought back in prematurely but I couldn’t be happier with how it worked out. I’m looking to do the same this time around. I’m confident it’s going to crash, the question is just when, and will this GME situation be the catalyst.

Both sides acted legally. Short selling is not some advanced tactic like the derivatives market that contributed to the 2008 crash.
It’s going to suck for the redditors buying GameStop at the high in all of this because the price is just going to correct to where it should be once this is all said and done.
Hedge funds suffered a huge loss, they knew the risk.
The problem is going to be the unintended consequences in all of this:

Is the SEC going to try to clamp down on the r/wallstreetbets of the internet?

Is there going to be a government bailout of these institutional investors who took these risks?

Is the damage is this going to be so big that this is the catalyst for a wider market crash, that has been in the works anyway?
Those 3 points are the issues I see with this whole thing.

Yeah I found him a few days after the 6th too. Surprisingly he popped up as a YouTube recommendation. That made me initially very skeptical and I thought he might be honeypot, but everything that he has been saying in his videos makes complete sense and is independently verifiable. I think the only way he could be honeypot would be through his VPN service, but I find that doubtful.
I’ve been watching Rob Braxman privacy videos lately. Check out his videos if you’re interested, he’s on all the tubes. One key thing that he’s made me realize:
If you’re worried about Big Tech (or them giving your info to federal agencies), one of the big problems with android and apple phones is that they both make you have an identity to use the phone - your Apple ID or Google account. This is the central identity on your phone and the apps that you download are all tied to that identity. Your credit card and therefore your name and address is tied to that identity.
We have to get away from using devices that force us to have a centralized identity. If you still want a smart phone, the way around this is either a de-googled phone or a Linux phone- Pinephone or Librephone.

You’re right though, it’s an important distinction between a conspiracy and a conspiracy theory. Bots on Reddit are pushing for the term to be used as one and the same. Almost every major event in the history of humanity happened because two or more people “conspired” together to achieve a result. Yet, there is a push to make the word conspiracy associated with loonies. The CIA was really smart to start that push after the JFK assassination, but you know what? When you have thousands and thousands of studies on human psychology, many of which were done illegally and unethically, of course you will know how to manipulate humanity, so we shouldn’t give them too much credit.
I agree, and it’s going to be interesting how things play out in the future.
There’s going to be a battle within the Republican Party in the next 2-4 years. The anti establishment types vs the neocons and swamp creatures. Then the tribal republicans will just support whoever gets the nominations.
The division will make the Democratic Party stronger, but hopefully they get shaken up too. Lots of Democrats are new gun owners and this administration is very anti gun.
