The fact that all the “from my cold, dead hands” people are buying lots of short barreled rifles and suppressors, both of which take fingerprints and puts you on a government list, just because the $200 tax went away is a bit concerning to me.
Personally, just like the smart ID is a red line and I just won’t fly anymore because I don’t have one unless I get a passport, I don’t care how nifty a suppressor is, I am not getting fingerprinted and put on a government ownership list just to use one.
So stop obeying. Make your own.
You first, if you know how, from a skills perspective. Please share on this forum about your non-registered NFA items.
As TallestSkil said, by doing this you're still living within the box they have built.
Also I hate to break it to you, but even if you're a perfect sheep and never try to participate in any "discouraged activities" you will not escape their lists.
Buying and using NFA items is objectively good imo, because it normalizes them. It is difficult for the government to ban things in use by everybody.
Everyone is living in that box unless they stop paying taxes and move out to the woods.
It is a matter of personal red lines.
That said, you do have a point about normalization I suppose.
Constitutional carry is a recent development so their fingerprints are likely already on file from concealed carry permits. If you have ever purchased a gun from a store your 4473 was filed away in a database so you're already on the list of gun owners.
You can pay an extra fee if you don't have a REAL ID to fly, but you still have to go through the airport where your biometric data will be collected.
Randy Weaver moved to the woods and ignored the NFA...that didn't even work decades ago before law enforcement started buying drones.
Nothing in my arsenal is registered in any way, but I'm sure they tracked each credit card purchase so they know i have a little something.

The funny thing is I can construct a bomb with off the shelf materials.
If the government believes this list is useful they've got a fucking surprise in store.
