But let's look deeper at what this is.

When times get tough, the layers of civilization get stripped away. As the water begins to boil, man does not dwell on higher thoughts of great discovery, but instead is focused on survival. He is thus running in a more primitive state. It means more instinct, less empathy, less patience, even less cognition. Less ability to connect to or understand anyone not tied in with his own instinct, culture, language, lineage. It's easier, it's safer, but it is also more primitive.

Traumatic event after traumatic event in America, groups become afraid and turn against each other. Old resentments that had become a trifle to laugh at now boil over in hatred and bloodshed. The nation resonates with primitive states of fear, hostility, hatred.

Though some want to cast this as "progress" and "based" behavior, it is a regression. It's falling away from the higher states demanded of us by God's word. For example, the fruit of the spirit is "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness" [Galatians 5:22]. We are not called to be petty, wrathful, and fearful. But many are falling into this trap across the modern world.

And, though many will scoff, I wouldn't be surprised if the ambient electromagnetic changes from the ever increasing cell towers is playing a role. It's another chronic stress pushing the body and mind towards that more primitive state. Making it harder to learn, harder to focus, harder to be joyful and at peace.
