I guess I'd compare them on a case by case basis...
a) If one buys weed; then one was conditioned to follow the program of another...smoking adds insult to injury.
b) Growing weed exposes one to the temptations of selling; buying or smoking it.
c) Instead of smoking volatile substances...try discerning self to be an essence within a volatile spirit passing through. That's how one gets high without smoke.
Smoke indicates the burning out of something...spirit implies the animation of heat within.
