They try to point to something in history that is nebulous and undocumented, and I have a new framing that has so far shut up everyone who tries the argument: If we Americans have the right to tell Jews they're not true Jews and we know who the true Jews are, then Jews have the right to tell us Americans that we're not true Americans and they know who the true Americans are. Ordinary exegesis implies that Jesus is deliberately linking three other works of satan by using the word "satan" again, and three others by referring to direct contradictions in the same way as he refers to the non-Jews; his other patters of seven in this passage suggest this is intentional design. Do you know what the other six works are that I described in the comment above, with the same degree to which you "know" about the synagogue? This is an elite research board, not a stable for one-trick ponies.
