Europe is as rich in resources as others they depend on. They just don't want to develop them, thinking all others will forever supply them one way or another without a need for Europe to touch their precious aristocratic realty.
There are tons of uranium ore right near Paris. Enormous amount of copper and rare earths on the south of Italy, in Greece and Cyprus. Enormous amount of gas and oil on the north, Norway, Britain, Sweden. Coal in Poland and Germany. And so on. They just don't want to mine all that stuff. by their precious elven hands on their precious elven land.
We don't need them anyway. Did that multiple times since Germanarich, and always leave them to themselves eventually. Not the people of our kind, not the people to unite with. And even theoretically, could you imagine how many human resources would be necessary to administer all that elven horde and bring them to some common sense? We opened doors for europeans who are tired from modern European insanity, some accept that offer and move here, I think it's more than enough to save those who want to be saved.
I'm sad about really good educated European engineers and scientists I made a fellowship in the past. Most are retired already, and they was just unable to find young successors in their spheres. Not even bad ones. Companies and universities they worked in turning into empty shells of what they was in the past, without people who could do all the important job.
It looks like Europe eating itself devouring anything good they had and producing just more shit in addition to one they already was full with.
