Most beverges are fluorecent thanks to ingridients. That does not mean it is something bad, actually. Many natural substances are fluorescent.
Quinine - shine very bright blue in UV light. Used in bitter tonics.
Vitamin B2 is fluorescence is bright green. Used almost in any beverage.
Chlorophyll is shining red, but not very bright.
Coca-cola shine in UV thanks to caramel flavoring used to mock cola taste.
Most molecules that fluorescenting in beverages are relatively big, so they are definitely fall into a category of nanoparticles. Some colorings, flavourings or chlorophyl are multimolecule nanoparticles too.
There is nothing strange that there is fluorescent particles in beverages at all.
Cola and Pepsi are shit not because of "fluorescent nanoparticles", but because they are made from shit, instead of natural ingridients.
I'm really don't understand why nobody (I mean beverage manufacturers) use real cola nuts to make cola beverages. Cola nuts are cheap and you need a little (teaspoon for a cup) for taste and energy. It's pure idiocy to replace real cola flavor with mix of caramel and cinnamon which is a poor counterfeit of cola nuts taste. Cola nuts are not prohibited or whatever, unlike coke. Only way to make real cola beverage is to buy cola nuts and make it by yourself.
And second part of this twitter post. Microsoft and Coca-cola have a multibillion contract. Both companies are public companies, so they have to disclose contracts at least to investors. I don't think it is a problem to find out what is in that contract. Will be interesting to find out.
The original soda was rootbeer, and ill take a wild guess that it wasnt actually that terrible for you. You can find some 100 year old root beer bottles in the ohio river with some thorough searching.
Root beer has a significant history in Ohio, particularly in Cincinnati, where it was a popular temperance drink in the mid-1800s. Early recipes often included ingredients like sassafras, wintergreen, and hops. Root beer stands like Stewart's, founded in Mansfield in 1924, and Frostop, originating in Springfield in 1926, have also played a role in the beverage's popularity in Ohio.
Root beer was promoted as a medicinal drink, with merchants claiming its beverages had curative properties.
Thing is, real ingredients cost money, so of course they will go to the cheapest and legal thing they can. Fructose corn syrup should have prolly never been a thing.
Like anything heavy processed, its pure poison, but if enjoyed in moderation, unlikely to do much to you. I still think of that story of the woman who drank nothing but pepsi for years.
The woman, who lives in Monaco, a small country near southern France, was brought to a hospital after she fainted. A blood test showed she had severely low potassium levels. And a test of her heart's electrical activity revealed she had a condition called long QT syndrome, which can cause erratic heart beats.
The woman did not have a family history of heart or hormone problems. But she told her doctors that, since the age of 15, she had not drunk any water — soda (specifically cola) was the only liquid she consumed. She drank about 2 liters (2 quarts) of cola daily, she said.
After abstaining from soda for just one week, the woman's potassium levels and heart electrical activity returned to normal.
You couldnt do cocaine for years and come out with just some dehydration and low potassium levels.
That being said, its poison. I know it is. Im still sucking back 2L of pepsi a day and im terrified of becoming diabetic. Try to drink plenty of water and the intermittent fasting is prolly the only reason I havent become diabetic, yet.
Like I said before, nothing else really hits that craving than the damn pop. I dont seem to be able to absorb as much phospo from milk, and it really gives me constipation/diarrea now.
I really got to go get my blood levels checked again. but whats the point.
"Yeah this is the 30th time we tested you, your blood phosphorous is still low, your vitamin d is still low, and your parathyroid hormone is sky high"
You might already know this but even no-calorie soda affects your insulin levels so you shouldn't have it during your fasting state. I also crave it but one of my triggers is being full so I take a shot of apple cider vinegar and it has the same "digestive" type effect. Lemon juice water also does about the same thing. When I just want something bubbly I get carbonated water or kombucha. These tweaks have me drinking about 75% less soda than 5 years ago.
