Trillion dollar companies can't figure out how to use AI to make full self driving, so they are not making a general purpose humanoid in our life time IMHO. But they will put out rumors like this to increase their stock price.
The best self driving cars are using pre-mapped routes in designated areas and do not rely on just visual + AI like Tesla has been trying (and failing at).
I mean its definitely exponentially improving. Just a matter of time.
Then also think of the capabilities for manufacturing in orbit and connect that with the Elons rockets and sattelites as well as our newly integrate space force to enforce "property rights" in space.
We essentially have the technology already to begin manufacturing in space by jettisoning material and utilize AI assisted and remote controlled machines.
The ability to manufacture and fabricate goods and materials in a zero gravity environment will change everything. Coming soon.
I think you're still getting ahead of yourself and drinking the koolaid too much. Some things are getting much better. But there is a lot of chicanery around robotics, and it's that way for a reason; because they just ain't got it like that, as the kids say.
Elon / Tesla are the biggest bullshitters on the planet right now. And anything involving space is expensive af.
I wouldn't bet against them ever having a commercially viable product given the speed at which AI is advancing.
