This is buoyancy. Gravity is acting on both, one is better at floating than the other. Learn basic science. Gravity is not confused, but mabye you might be? Just sayin.

If gravity was false we'd all be floating in the air and the air would float off the planet.

Orange you glad you’re not bananas?

Except you, OP. You’re bananas.

So gravity doesn't work in water? Or buoyancy doesn't work in air? Which are you implying?

If 'dark matter' works similar to water, it's still not exactly water as we know it and gravity works on it in a way we can't computate, currently, I think.

There is enough air, trapped between the peel and the orange due to gases being released by the fruit to float the orange

That was one theory that this guy tested.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF87hs1doiM

Turned out its because the peel is about twice as buoyant as the orange, and there is a little air trapped under the skin as well, but thats not what makes it float.

You ever look at a orange peel? Looks much like cork material, im sure there is alot of air trapped in pockets in the skin.

It might shock OP to learn how submarines work as well.

Also the peel contains oils which float above water

my helium balloon floated away

but my lead balloon fell to the floor

I guess gravity was confused

Tallest shill would say that's buoyancy and he's right!!!

Got it! The scientists here think air is not a medium. Why the vacuum experiments? We look for nature's secrets in things that nature abhors? At least muggles are consistent

what is buoyancy

Yes, you’re mentally defective. We already knew.

I think it's cause the peels light, and it makes it float because it hides the heavy orange from the water

Gravity is merely an unproven theory. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar.

This meme sucks though.

Gravity is an unnecessary label given to the effect of the density of an object within a certain medium (air, water, sand, etc.).

With its rind, the fruit is more buoyant in water than without because it's density as a whole compared to that of the water is reduced.

I fucking ❤️ science
