Thanks for the shoutout!
I read the Torah and the prophets, together it's called the Tanahk or Old Testament, which Jesus was well versed in, (this is really funny) and I also read the New Testament in which Jesus finally appears. Just so we're all caught up
No wonder that the only comment you got is from a user called "mock the cross"...
I am trying to be a Christian, and I do try to follow the Bible. As long as this user doesn't follow the Talmud, it's fine. I am also not a jew, if that's something you confuse about the Torah.
That being said, I hope God bless you both - you and "mock the cross" person. I've seen postings and comments by "Thisisnotanexit" and I doubt that he is an actual Christian. God bless him too, because I know that no matter what I tell you, you all will mock me for my faith in God. Still, I wish you all the best, so you too can be saved!
Thank you for saying so! Yeah, u/Thisisnotanexit is both sensitive and thick-skinned in different ways. I trust she'll let me rib her with a little spelling flame: if she were Jewish she would have spelled it Tanakh.
No, what we are is Christians who want whatever Jesus is and has for us. He loves the OT (Tanakh), so we do also. In fact we believe our salvation consists entirely in, not what we did, but solely what Jesus did to keep perfectly every single Abraham-Isaac-Jacob mad writing there is. If Jesus kept all of them perfectly, it means there must be some way in which the facially-confusing talk about genocides and mixed fabrics all makes sense; and if it makes sense to Jesus he's such a great guy (because he's the incarnation of my Creator) that I trust it will make sense to me in time too.
If you want to start with your own judgment and never move from there, I guess you could say the OT doesn't make sense to you now and so it might never. But surely you believe that ancestors weren't morons, they did and said things for a reason. My ancestors passed on to me the writings they thought most holy, as I'm sure yours did. (Check out that Havamal, very sacred in the right context.) So if you find the OT "mad" it may be that your judgment will change given more exposure and dialogue.
What would you like to know? How I grew up in a mini hell ran by drug addicts? How I was somehow protected and carried through it? Should I tell you how God answers my prayers and rescues my family from ourselves all the time? Would you like to know about my brother, who they told us wasn't worth it, he wouldn't walk, wouldn't talk and his spine would be outside his body? He's 25 now, holding a full time job and thriving with friends and family and his journey with God, who he loves. (He walks and talks and dances even!)
God saves me everyday. He's more real to me that the people I see in front of me and I'm sorry you don't know what that feels like, I can promise He'd be willing if you are.
Hilarious!
I'm Christian and I'm a woman.
Edit: so it should be 'she's a loser' which is funny because I'm usually winning, like in that thread you deleted and are using now for your benefit since there's back up..

Would you mind letting me know how you measured me and what led you to think I'm not Christian, for the Lord's sake, so I can do better
So, do you follow the Torah?
PS: I am not a Christian as I honor my ancestors and their struggle. My DNA predates this Hollywood propaganda.
