Even says in the article that jerusalem was part of assyria, so it shouldnt be hard to figure out that this is a depiction of an assyrian winged god.

The article claims "figures of winged demons are known in the neo-assyrian art of the 9th-7th century BCE"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mesopotamian_deities

This deity specifically was a god known as Nisroch.

Nisroch (Hebrew: נִסְרֹךְ, Nīsrōḵ; Koinē Greek: Νεσεραχ; Latin: Nesroch) was, according to the Hebrew Bible, a god of Assyria in whose temple King Sennacherib was worshiping when he was assassinated by his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer (2 Kings 19:37, Isaiah 37:38).

So its strange to me that he being referred to as a demon in this article.

Anywho, this is one of my major hurdles with modern religions.

They just simply seem to be a very old collection and curation of much, older, much more ancient religions.

Id even bet money the original stories are in the labyrinth/vault under the vatican temple.

Bonus Content.

I am fairly certain its depicting the same god.

Nisroch Relief from Ashurnasirpal II's palace at Nimrud

the Assyrian god of agriculture, in whose temple king Sennacherib was worshipping when he was assassinated by his own sons in revenge for the destruction of Babylon. (2 Kings 19:37; Isa. 37:38). Josephus calls him Dagon.

His identification as a god in Mesopotamia is unclear. Some suggest he could be the same as Nusku or Dagan.

Its very strange to me that they are just trying to paint this as some run of the mill demon.

It's strange? They have lied about everything and more lies are strange?

How interesting would it be to actually be told the truth.

Before Coursera became pay for play, I took the course Geography of the Bible. I found it very interesting. 10/10.
